I think you are thinking of the rusalka, who were featured in many stories. The rusaloka were river spirits/fairies that usually appeat as pretty young girls. The would prey on lone men who camped near the banks of their streams: after magically rendering the men helpless they would either a) drag them under the water to drown, or b) tickle them mercilessly til they died of exhaustion or heart failure.
I never heard of the lechy (also spelled leshy) being ticklers, but I am not a real expert on them... also, their could be some cross-pollination of stories.....
Hmmm.... someone should write a story about a cunning koldun (slavic magician) who turns the table on a cute rusalka and tickles her....

There were actually about 5 different variations on the word Lechie. If you punch "russian mythology tickling" into a Google you'll find all kinds of stuff. Unfortunately not much of it goes into detail. Perhaps someone more clever than I could do some shrewder searching on Google.

Yes amk714 I've heard Catherine the Great was into tickling too. Also I have heard that it was not uncommon for ladies of Russian royalty to have professional foot ticklers to help get them aroused. I remember reading this in book about foot fetishism.

This story is definitely fiction. There was no such person as this "ambassador" (I've checked).

There is, however, apparently truth to tickling in C the Great's court. I have seen more reputable sources say she was personally into it, and apparently there is testimony about professional foot-ticklers. So this is a fictional story based vaguely on real reports.

DA, , I've also heard of that, but I forgot to post it. I've also seen that link before, that IS a great story, even if it's entirely made up. This stuff almost makes me forgive the Russians for starting the Communist craze 🙂 Thanks everyone for all this info!

....And the name of the book was,"The Sex Life of the Foot and Shoe"
written by Dr.William Rossi. Was published in the mid to late ' 70's.
When I read the part about the professional foot ticklers, I about fainted.
