Let's get interactive, eh?

I'm in. However, it should be noted that every one of my entries will ultimately funnel down to "... and killed Izzy".

What about some kinda of ticklish obstacle course with a survivalist twist?

It'd give plenty of opportunities, but I'd start to worry that it'd get a bit repetitive. Let's see a show of hands or something. What do you all think of going with a campy, retro sci-fi flair? Or, if not that, what sorts of settings would catch people's fancy?

I think the setting would be best if it were somewhere everyone could be at once. So I think it would be good to either make it like a town, a job, a hang out spot, or possibly some type of college.

*raises hand* I'd be up for campy sci-fi. It's a fun genre. If so, I'd guess the best set up is all or most of the characters starting on a space ship and traveling to where ever. I'd also guess that most characters should be human rather than alien to make things easier. Then again, I've never played this game before. All that could make no sense. Still, definite fun possibilities with sci-fi. Lots of opportunities to paint interesting pictures.

There's an idea. Also made me think fantasy good be good as well. The medieval atmosphere would allow great opportunity for bondage and punishment. Not to mention allow each person to play a role. This could take place in a castle or as a big kingdom depending on how many people are participating. If in a kingdom you could have shopkeepers and towns people. If just a castle you could still have servants, knights, royalty, and peasants.
EX. :A servant who's tired of serving or being missed treated by her queen makes plans to take some ticklish revenge.
The queen then takes revenge and punishes the servant in the dungeon.

I could certainly work with campy sci fi. A Flash Gordon type setting would be pretty cool. A group of people marooned on a distant planet trying to brave a technologically advanced world filled with bizarre aliens with an even greater askew idea of what constitutes fashion sense. Some aliens there are treacherous, some are fanatically loyal to the ruler others are helpful. There is the bizarre feudal politics.

That setting would grant a wide latitude to what character you would like to play. There is wide range of tech from primitive to advanced. There is that campy, old time, high-adventure mood setting of a John Carter of Mars built into the plot. Plus a great deal of people are familiar with Flash Gordon. It doesn't have to be that exact world, but could be that type of setting.

Personally, I find a current real world setting more exciting than virtual worlds (medieval, fantasy) as it seems easier to relate to. So I would vote for something like a big corporation or a school or a neighborhood with room for multiple characters and plot lines. I am into the theme of blackmail and tickling so I would provide that story line in whatever scene most people want to go with. Should be fun.

While I'm not explicitly familiar with Flash Gordon, I think we can all get the basic memes of campy sci-fi down (Danger, Will Robinson! Energy weapons set to whatever, exotic aliens that all somehow end up seduced by Kirk, omnipotent playful energy beings, backwater planets, mechanical men, etc). As much as some of us might prefer fantasy or a modern setting, I think we can all get behind sci-fi and enjoy it.

Might be most helpful for Bella (as instigator) to assign some roles and get the ball rolling on a general setting. This'd probably never get going without a moderator with some modicum of authority. Doesn't even have to be much if she's feeling lazy (You! You're the captain, you're the first mate, you're the ship doctor, you're the token alien, etc. Now you, first post! Set X scene in more detail!). Something like that (or whatever roles there'd be), with a good mix of gender sounds most appropriate. I wouldn't be offended not to be picked or to get X role.

Well the thing about sci-fi is that it's all different and specific. For instants you may have different races of alien, technology, and culture all together. It would take a long time to establish who's where, what's where, and what's what. Going sci-fi is kina going into the unknown, it hasn't happened yet and is unrelatable unless the world had already been written about with detail. They also kinda end up a bit cheesy. If I had to pick I'd go with present/modern maybe with some fantasy or scifi details.

This sounds very interesting to me, so my hand's in if accepted. And, I think I'd 'try' to go with whatever the majority decides is best, though (again, only if allowed, and there's enough room for me) my hand's in for the sci-fi theme, whichever it might be more specifically.
