I'm in. However, it should be noted that every one of my entries will ultimately funnel down to "... and killed Izzy".
Ah! Then you definitely have experience at doing this! Hallelujah!
*raises hand* I'd be up for campy sci-fi. It's a fun genre. If so, I'd guess the best set up is all or most of the characters starting on a space ship and traveling to where ever. I'd also guess that most characters should be human rather than alien to make things easier. Then again, I've never played this game before. All that could make no sense. Still, definite fun possibilities with sci-fi. Lots of opportunities to paint interesting pictures.
It'd give plenty of opportunities, but I'd start to worry that it'd get a bit repetitive. Let's see a show of hands or something. What do you all think of going with a campy, retro sci-fi flair? Or, if not that, what sorts of settings would catch people's fancy?
Well the thing about sci-fi is that it's all different and specific. For instants you may have different races of alien, technology, and culture all together. It would take a long time to establish who's where, what's where, and what's what. Going sci-fi is kina going into the unknown, it hasn't happened yet and is unrelatable unless the world had already been written about with detail. They also kinda end up a bit cheesy. If I had to pick I'd go with present/modern maybe with some fantasy or scifi details. While I'm not explicitly familiar with Flash Gordon, I think we can all get the basic memes of campy sci-fi down (Danger, Will Robinson! Energy weapons set to whatever, exotic aliens that all somehow end up seduced by Kirk, omnipotent playful energy beings, backwater planets, mechanical men, etc). As much as some of us might prefer fantasy or a modern setting, I think we can all get behind sci-fi and enjoy it.
