This is a general appeal to all TMF'ers and posters. Iam aware that the majority of us TMF'ers are cordial, responsible, respectful, people who come to the TMF to share our love for tickling, and to chat, and socialize with others. However, I do know that recently the mods have had trouble, and become upset with, certain posters who have exercised "flaming" tactics, and put down othere points of view which may differ from their own. I think we all need to remember what the TMF should be, it should be a place to socialize, and share, and respect others viewpoints. We can debate, but should not make other chatters or posters feel bad if their viewpoints differ from our own. The United States in 2003 is a complex country, and all of our lives are affected by complexities in differing and varying degrees, whether it be the impact of the war on our lives, financial or family pressures, illness in some cases and so forth. People should be able to come to a place where we can have fun, share common interests, and find common ground. As Myriads writes so often. differing opinion is okay, flaming and putting another down for an opposing opinion is wrong. I think we should all take a minute, reflect on the state of our nation, the dangers, and our lives, and realize that the TMF should be a fun place to spend time, a social outlet. The mods should be here to guide, not to have to scold, ban, boot or pull threads, etc. We are all adults, and being here is a privlige, I believe we should all respect that privliege and each others rights to differing opinons. After all, isnt that what freedom of speech in the US is about. I say this with one exception, our "freedom" in a forum like this can be differing, but should not be flaming or hurtful to others, that removes the fun of coming to the TMF, and thats what this can and should be, a fun experience, not a place to fight, flame, or aggravate mods into boots, bans, etc. That is not fun, and dont we all have enough complexities in our own personal lives without doing it here? I do not want to offend and Iam not pointing fingers at any person or group of people, that is not my intent with this post, this is just a general appeal to all.

I'm still pretty new here, and I post mainly to contribute and share my artwork, but even I know what you and everyone before you have said is a given, or at least it should be.

It should be stressed more that this place exists so that people from all walks of life can share eachother's company in a 'neutral fly zone', and that while we are at liberty to express ourselves, it shouldn't be at the expense or shooting down of others.

Again, I may be new here, and may only be 20 years old, but I'm mature for my age, and watching the lot of you bickering like children fighting over a toy in some cases, gives me the urge to just say- Grow up, and get with the program.

Thank you. I appreciate that you understand the point of my post. I hope others will too.

You're very much welcome, and I'm sure almost everyone else can agree on this and understand it. Its just sad that people need to be reminded all the time. It should have rubbed in by now, it really should have. I don't mean to bitch or whine, but I nor anyone else deserves an environment like this.

This needs to be a site where all can harmonize to some degree with eachother. If we can't manage to do that, then we're nothing more then an unruley mob.

Mitch, don't worry, karma will catch them (not sutra, either)
Celtic_E, keep posting pics!!

I will, regardless of the forum situation. 🙂

If theres one thing that concerns me almost as much as this sitution does however, its the internal question of whether or not my art makes any difference what so ever. I know it does by logic, and by the gratitude people kindly show me, but combinding that with this situation, it makes me wonder.

If people will shoot eachother down over a differing opinion caused by whatever, then art is surely an easy target and any damage done is potentially more harmful for the artist. And while my time is mostly spent in the Anime Media forum, I certainly hope the problems here don't make their way into that forum either in any way, shape or form, or manifest themselves. To be honest, the Anime Media forum is my only true security on this site so far. And to be more specific, my opinion and beliefs about tickling and how I apply that to my artwork is something I need to protect, as I feel it may someday come under attack in any number of subtle comments or downright judgements.

Bottom line, I'm outnumbered on this site, and I sometimes worry about expressing my opinions here for some of the same reasons this thread expresses.

I apologize if this wasn't on topic in any way, but I felt you needed a view of how someone generally outside of the Tickling Discussion and General Discussion forums feel about this. Thank you for your time. 🙂
