Logical thoughts on the minors issue (NOT TROLLING OR STARTING ANYTHING) long post

I have to admit that I didn't really keep an eye on how the handling of critical material on the forums developed. I'd like to know if there was a particular day when mods decided to delete certain posts. For example there was a huge thread by Biscuit with "Early Experiences" that doesn't seem to be the same anymore or am I wrong here? Were single posts deleted selectively by checking all the content in TMF's history? Just curious. EDIT: I just read Myriads reference to that thread so that almost answers my question. When exactly was that change of regulations?

As far as the actual discussion is concerned: I think most of us agree that the fun of tickling doesn't start with 18 years of age and that threads like the one mentioned were fun to read. I'm among the younger users of the TMF myself and tickling a 17 year old is perfectly normal for me because I could also be dating her. Not being able to post a story about it might be a shame. However, I definitely agree that we should be zero tolerance here in order to keep perverts away and not endanger our TMF. No doubt about it.

We came to the conclusion that our partial ban was not working as a group after several threads came to our attention in a small span. Close investigation turned up issues in many places.

So we altered the rules, and spent several days pulling threads that violated the changed rules. In some cases threads were selectively edited, others were pulled in full. It was based on how much a thread needed attention. Some could not be salvaged.

Is there a reason you are using a thread that is about a topic that is importance to the forum, for a private conversation that is off topic?

I'm pointing it out not to get on your cases in specific, but as an example of what we call thread hijacking. It's when a thread with a serious topic is basically made useless by off topic cross talk. Mostly we know people don't mean to do it, and don't even realize they are.

It's in cases like this that we feel PM's might serve a conversation much more effectivly.

😎 Of course you're right but that should rather be a metaphor for the problem in general. However, the more detailed the story and the younger the person, the more problems would appear on that end.

That must have been a whole lot of work. I guess many of us underestimate how much time you guys spend on the TMF. Thank you.

Yes it was a lot of work. Several mods put in workday like shifts moving posts.

To give you an idea there are 3500 threads, with almost 60,000 posts in the evaluation forum archives.

We stay busy.

It's not expressed often,but the work that the adminstrators and moderators do is appreciated by the vast majority of us Myriads.I know tis often a thankless task,and no doubt frustrating at times,which makes it all the more admirable.We all owe you all a debt of gratitude that can never be repayed for you time and effort to make the TMF the wonderful place it is.
