I only ask cause i'l be there for 3 or 4 days sometime this year for a course and i'm going by myself so i'l have spare time in the evening if anyone wants to grab a coffee or something, i sound so posh, meh, anyway if not i'l end up wondering round my hotel like a billy no mates posting to here on my phone 😛

You ever been down to Cake Coffee and Kink in Covent Garden? I head down to London quite a bit, let me know when you're in the city...

You know I would beat your arse into the ground...with my poi...
Mate, you missed out at the leicester juggling convention yesterday...I learned much in the ways of the spinner 😉

If you can, visit the Union Jack Club. It's near one of the big railway stations, can't remember which one, but it's a cracking hotel. It's only supposed to be for services personell but last time I was in the Big Smoke with a certain gentleman of ill repute we managed to blag our way in on fake Army ID numbers. Just give them some 8-digit guff starting in 2514... and you'll do fine, and if anyone asks you what your cap-badge is just run and keep on running.

I just want you guys to know that when you start in with the British specific banter, it makes for some of the most entertaining reading on the forum, in my opinion anyway. :dogpile:

Carry on then ...

Mah, let's hope that is at the same time as my trip to London then 😵

Shame; I live 72 miles away from London.

I can get the train to Kings Cross though, or drive to Burnt Oak and getting the tube to Kings Cross, but I don't plan on going to London anytime soon due to having to save up the extra pennies for me holidays.

Hari, hope you get to meet up with some TMFers, be kewl 🙂

Nah, tis kewl 😉 We are going to the Lake District for a week, renting a cottage, can't bloody wait need a break from work and see some lovely scenery and plenty of JD and Guinnesses for me :firedevil

I'm also off to Berlin on 29th Dec for a week spending NYE there, for the parrrteeeee can't wait for that one either. The bloomin dowside is the flight with Ryanair is costing us £149 each, that was more than I expected but in the current climate should've expected it I suppose *shrug*.

😀

I was about to say...'how the fuck did you get in'...but you already said so, so I won't.

I've never been there myself, but have heard it's not all it's cracked up to be. Sure, if you're on a shoe-string budget, it's fine, but there's plenty more places to choose from.

You're quite right, Tony. It is good. Very, very good.

Seriously though, that's been said quite often and it's something I'm quite proud of. I'll never tire of seeing it written/hearing it said. Mersee Bowcoop me old china.

I go to London lots, for dull meetings/visiting friends. Let me know nearer the time when you're going to be there, chances are I'll be around anyway, if the bloody Virgin Voyager doesn't let me down...well frankly, I always consider it a fecking miracle when I arrive with all my bits intact.

Oooh, I went to Berlin for NYE a couple of years ago, it was brilliant. Street party by the Brandenberg Tor, and while I was wandering during the day I found this very random, fantastic street near Hakeschr Market. It was mostly flats rented by folks from the art school nearby, and the whole little street/alley (a bit like the close's in Edinburgh) had been turned into a giant free space for artists. There was also an old sewing factory in the street, once used by a Schindler-esque person who employed people with disabilities during WWII. It's been turned into a museum. So, as I remember, turn left after the square when you come out of the Hakeschr Market station, then it's the third or fourth street on the left.

Sorry to get a bit off-topic.

Lucy
