Losing sensitivity while being tickled?

Hey TMF!

My girlfriend has been getting more into tying me down and tickling me, and we've started to notice that I tend to wear out when we play for extended periods of time. After a while I'll lose a bit of the ticklish feeling and won't enjoy it as much.

Is there any way to combat this? I really enjoy being super ticklish and having the opposite effect is getting quite irritating!
 
Taking breaks will help, but if you do continuous tickling I don't believe there is any way to keep yourself from losing sensitivity aside from giving your nerves a break. It happens.
 
Variety is the spice of life and tickling. Continuos tickling the same spot the same way usually leads to deadening the sensitivity there.
Moving to different tickle spots; changing the mode of tickling; mixing tickle touches with other touches; some breaks from tickling. All these help keep the ticklish level high.
 
That's perfectly normal, I think it's even a self-protection of the body. Variety and breaks should do the trick, and not staying in one spot too long.
 
I experienced this too with a girl I used to tickle. As people already suggested you can vary the tickling and move to different spots.
I used to tickle lightly in the first 30 min and then I slowly kept turning up the speed and dug more into her skin with my fingers as we continued. This made me able to tickle her for three hours without her losing sensitivity.
 
You should begin with socks on, until the sensibility is gone, then take them off, and start light tickling until you get accustomed, and then hard tickling, etc...

You should always start light and end intensely. You should never start being too intense, or the tickling will not last long.

If I am tickled in certain spots for a long period of time I will get less sensative but only on certain ticklish areas.
 
I've experienced this too when being tickled. Everybody's body has a different response to tickling stimuli: some freeze up, some go buckwild and crazy, some need to be "warmed up" in order to feel ticklish, some start to lose sensation quickly, to some it feels good, and to others it's too intense or painful. Becoming desensitized could be your body's natural response to protect itself from the tickling as someone mentioned before. What really helps me when this happens is for the ler to be constantly switching it up. The psychological aspect of tickling and the element of surprise are both important factors to consider when wanting to elicit the best response from the lee. When I'm being tickled and I start to feel like I'm losing ticklishness, it helps for the ler to move to a different spot and work different areas of my body. And then they can revisit the spot they were tickling before and I find it's just as or even more ticklish than at the start. Also try having the ler switch up tickling methods such as varying from light to hard tickles and from poking to "spidering" and to digging. Verbal taunts are also effective to get someone back into a ticklish mental state. Essentially, changing your routine and spicing things up are key and help the tickle session last a lot longer.
 
It is totally about variation. Ive had very good luck with just varying the type of tickling. I prefer to spend my time on the feet, and have spent up too and over an hour without the lee loosing ticklishness. They were even surprised it lasted that long, mentioning that previously they had lost sensitivity but not with the way I tickled them. Variation, light, hard, fast, slow, its all good!!!
