The times, they are a changin'...
Give it maybe 30 or 40 years, and hopefully society will become more tolerant of differing sexualities.

Okay, here's my take.
Tickling is an action. Actions aren't gay. People are. So the question becomes one of association. Do you as a guy <em>associate</em> tickling with sex. If you do, then you're likely to associate M/M tickling as <del>gay</del> homoerotic and F/F tickling as hot. It may be a double standard but it's a legitimate and understandable one.
It's different and maybe still out of the norm, but I don't see it as gay. I mean, contrary to popular belief, it actually isn't different in any way from F/F tickling. It's people of the same sex tickling each other. F/F tickling is two people of the same sex tickling each other. If the only difference is the genitalia, then it's not really different. Seems to me that a lot of guys aren't too secure in their manhood.
Two guys are never going to kiss each other for fun. So...
I think this has to depend a lot on the person and situation. Much like f/f, it can be completely harmless and mean nothing between two girlfriends. I have had many occasions where I've had another girl tickle me, and while I prefer guys, it doesn't neccessarily bother me when a girl does it. I view m/m in the same way. For example, a VERY straight male tickled another guy today at school, it was very innocent and he was just goofing around. He is by no means gay, and he didn't mean it in that way. I think if it's playful, it doesn't have to be gay.
But two straight girls will? Seems a bit hypocritical.
Really i suppose it depends on the two peoples opinons of what fun is. For example, making a bunch of guys react like total homophobes and have childish reactions that show thier lack of maturity could be viewed as fun by some people.
