Here's something I thought I'd throw out there...

As some of you may know, I got exposed to tickling from several magic shows in the '70's that had a captive assistant tickled on her feet, or in some rare cases, on her belly in those old three-way type separation tricks. Quite the impact on an impressionable young mind, eh?

My question is this. Are there others who find this small sub-genre of tickling to be particularly amusing? And if so, why? What is it about the combination that strikes you so?

No big whoop, just curious.

magic and tickling

I also saw quite a few of those shows, and it just ingrained tickling into me even more, love to see those assistants getting tickled, and hearing them laugh.

Dave: i always thought the laughing of the assistants was fake, to illustrate the illusion of the act. so, interestingly, it didn't serve as a major impetus in driving toward tickling. however, it was a big factor in turning me on to nyloned feet. those girls would wiggle their toes and send me to the moon.

I enjoyed because it was kinda the ultimate bondage. Like someone could run off with your midsection and tickle the hell out of it, and you'd be laughing your head off 100 ft away.

that type of tickling never appealed to me just for the fact that the womens feet sticking out of the box are never real. i cant get into tickling wooden or plastic feet.

actually, they are. that's usually *why* the magician tickles them; to make them jerk or wiggle and prove they're not just mannequin legs. I saw that on an episode of "Behind the Magic", where they demonstrated how the tricks were done. It's usually a second, hidden assistant providing the feet.

Yes, that's the way I understand it--one woman has her head sticking out of half the original box, and the other half of the box, now removed far away, has the feet of another woman sticking out.

But the head of the first woman laughs when the feet of the second woman are tickled. So she is faking it, and the other one is nonticklish enough to keep quiet, so no laughter comes out of the box she is in (which would ruin the illusion).

Ohhh that reminds me of a time when I was 12, our school had a magic show act and one of the teachers was put in that box thingy where they sawed it in half.
They tickled her feet which was kinda cool but now reading all that it probally wasn't even her feet. God knows who's it was then...

Trust me on this one people....the feet do start out real, but they don't stay that way for very long and at the end of the effect they are indeed real again. The old old old method was using 2 women, but the new method is much easier and more deceptive. Just my 2 cents. 🙂

Magic & Tickling

Dave,
I have also been a big fan of magic and tickling for as long as I can remember. In fact, I do a certain amount of speaking for groups and a few years ago incorporated a sawing illusion to provide a little entertainment. 'Course the fact that it also gave me the opportunity to ticklee a number of female "sawees" has worked out very well. 🙂 I've had some who were not a bit ticklish on their feet to a couple that almost came off the table when tickled! All in all, a most enjoyable experience.

When I was in college (won't say how long ago) A magician came to my school to perform. He did the old saw a woman in half routine and asked if a member of the audience would come up and see that it was real. I raised my hand and he picked me ! I went up on stage and walked through the two halves on the woman. He told me to go down to her feet so I did. There were these two beautiful, sheer nyloned feet sticking out (with bright red nail polish) he said "I bet she's ticklish, go ahead" so with that I tickled the feet. They were definately real feet and they wiggled and squirmed and the woman was laughing hysterically, however the woman was positioned so that she could see my hands tickling the feet. After that I was sent back to my seat BEFORE he "put her back together again" and let her out. (most likely so I couldn't see that the feet might have looked slightly different). There was obviously a second woman scrunched up in the lower half but she had awsome feet, I tickled them for a good 10 seconds of so, and I had a blast !

Back, yes WAY back, in the days of Doug Henning, Mark Wilson, Harry Blackstone JR. etc...carnival or novelity store magic by todays' standards, seeing the assistants' helpless feet tickled while locked in the box, is what turned me on to Magicians and Magic(Illusion)!
Even today with grand illusion from David Copperfield, those simple acts are done, just a tad more high tech but I always LOVED and still do, seeing those gals quickly tickled on an exposed spot, beit the feet or tummy. Now, I have my OWN bag of tricks😛 😉 😀

My Gawd, it was the first time that I was exposed to "bondage" and tickling. And it was mainstream!!!!

My fav was Doug Henning. For years, now, I've been trying to get my hands on a copy of a show wherein he sawed two ladies in half, and then switched the lower halves before he reassembled them. The two youngin's he got from the audience to help him out could not control themselves being soooo close to helpless stockinged feet and went nuts on the poor ladies tender sweet soles.

I was quite jealous that night. Actually, have been ever since...

Cheers.😀

I used to think it was amusing, but when I 1st started looking for stories about tickling, I'd find the magic act/tickling/bondage/sawing people in half, and I wasn't happy with the stories, so I began to think it was annoying, so I dont enjoy it anymore

i saw a special on revealing magic tricks, and the girl in the magic box bends her body so it fits in the upper half of the box, then the fake legs are used for the bottom half. perhaps there is more than one way to do the trick, but thats how the exposed the trick on that special.

One of the first things to get me into feet (the ticking came later) was the David Copperfield/Catherine Bach trick, when he not only tickled her stocking feet, but also held the soles up to the camera. I've also seen a Doug Henning trick with Bill Cosby as his assistant, where he sawed two women in half and then swapped their bottom halves, but not before tickling some stocking feet and making 'Cootchie coo' noises!

I'd love to see either clip again...

As for why we like it, I think it's due to the cheeky nature of the magician taking advantage of a helpless woman. We'd never do that now, would we...? 😉

Cheers, everybody,
