Man, thank you so much! It's very cool to receive a warm welcome (back) from people that remember the days of yore. I've been on the forum off and on, but I just didn't have the time it takes to post content at my disposal. Now, I hardly recognize this A/V section of the forum. The content posters have to set this place back on it's righteous course ...

When I first set out to post this stuff, I couldn't remember for the life of me how I'd gone about splitting files in the past. I was a little worried I'd post a whole bunch of content and have it be unviewable. I went through the process of rejoining the files just now; you need to unzip the files and wipe out the .01 and .02 file extensions (i.e. flv or wmv should be at the end of each file). The 4 & 5-part splits may pose a different problem which I will work on. Let me know how it goes.

No problem- thanx for posting FF7. See if the advice I gave out in my previous post works. I'm not sure what to do with the 4/5 part splits, yet; those were causing me problems in the splitting process. I haven't been able to get HJ Split to recognize the 4th part of that twister clip ...

Your split files are missing the .0 root file for Hacha to reconnect them.

Welcome to the forum. I didn't split the files using Hacha; I used HJ Split. It can be found here. They kind of operate the same way. Let me know if you have any questions. Best of luck.

The extensions on the the split files is causing a problem for HJsplit. Here is a description of what I did to combine the parts using one of the sets of files as an example.

Extract the contents of these files:

tuisutaa geemu.flv.01.zip
tuisutaa geemu.flv.02.zip
tuisutaa geemu.flv.03.zip
tuisutaa geemu.flv.04.zip

This gives us

tuisutaa geemu.flv.01.001
tuisutaa geemu.flv.02.002
tuisutaa geemu.flv.03.003
tuisutaa geemu.flv.04

For the first three files, having .01, .02, or .03 in the name is causing a problem for HJsplit because it expects everything to the left of .001, .002, or .003 to be the same. Remove .01, .02, and .03 to get

tuisutaa geemu.flv.001
tuisutaa geemu.flv.002
tuisutaa geemu.flv.003
tuisutaa geemu.flv.04

Now the first three files are OK, but the last file is wrong. Change its extension to .004, which now gives us

tuisutaa geemu.flv.001
tuisutaa geemu.flv.002
tuisutaa geemu.flv.003
tuisutaa geemu.flv.004

Now you should be able to use HJsplit to combine these parts.

It worked for me when I deleted the .01 after the .flv after I joined it with hjsplit.

Nimrod probably has the best solution.

I thought I would add some tips for easing the process I described earlier. This uses several free tools available for Windows.

I use Firefox as my browser. I have the extension DownThemAll installed, which allows me to download all attachments on the page at once. I use this often on this forum for downloading multiple attachments.

Once the files are downloaded, I can extract the contents of all .zip files using a tool called 7-zip (it also works with .arc files). After this tool is installed, you can highlight all of the .zip files in Windows Explorer (not to be confused with the browser Internet Explorer) and then extract them all at once using 7-zip by accessing it from the menu you get by clicking the right-mouse button.

To perform the renaming that I mentioned, I use a tool called The Rename. This program allows you to rename files that match some pattern that you provide.

Please read the directions for each of these if you have questions about them.

I don't think the problem was where the numbers were located relative to the flv extension. Instead, the problem was that there were two sets of numbers which made it appear that each part came from a different file. For example, if you had two files, file01.flv and file02.flv, splitting each of these into three parts should produce

file01.flv.001
file01.flv.002
file01.flv.003

and

file02.flv.001
file02.flv.002
file02.flv.003

and HJsplit should be able to determine what the original filename was.

Somehow the files that you split had names like
file.flv.01.001
file.flv.02.002
file.flv.03.003

which to HJsplit appear to be the first part of file.flv.01, the second part of file.flv.02 and the third part of file.flv.03

Whatever part of the process that resulted in the extra set of numbers (the two digit part) is what you should look at.

Thanks for the clips. I know that splitting and posting all of those parts is time-consuming.

Wow, thanx a lot, HDS. Often when I go to post stuff a certain amount of time has transpired (and it was even worse this go-round), and I have very little feel for the material I'm posting. Mica, YOU, Sir, are definately invited to my next birthday party. I figure if I had to miss NEST yet again, the least I could do was fill my weekend with ticklish Asian women. With your diligence and patience you made that possible. Never mind the fact that you consistantly make me look like some country hick who happens to stumble across a few clips here and there in between nose-picking forays. It's no wonder you vanish for months on end...You're like Dr. Livingston hacking your way thru the cyber-jungle in search of adventure. When you return you belch forth these amazing avalanches of heretofore unheard of exotic specimens of Asian tickling. And not just ANY clips, some of these are 5 minutes long or more! Even if the tickling is brief, who can NOT enjoy observing a beautiful Japanese lass enjoying a massage? Or that one bouncing on the bed to synchronized techno-pop? (My eyes are still dancing from those pulsating...Uh, back on target now! ) My one regret is that I'm not the one with my hands on these darlings.

You are one of those people whose threads are content-filled. And you are creating some of your material- something I never do. I consider you one of my partners in crime. I'm still not quite clear on the charges or where I went afoul of the law, but the authorities will sort the whole mess out in due time.

Your dial-up comment was hilarious. I'm not so far removed from those days that I can't remember doing the same thing. I even resorted to leaving larger downloads running overnight and simply hoping for the best come the next day.
