Honestly I think it all boils down to whether he was at fault for the car accident! If he was, he has no right to complain about the treatment the hospital deems necessary to give him, including surgery on his chest for a cancerous tumour. Maybe next time he'll pay more attention! Perhaps security sensed his driving was awful and were protecting the general public by keeping him in the hospital? Too many questions left unanswered!

btw... if the other party in the car accident was at fault... tough break man and I hope you sue the hospital and the guards for all you can get!

What a surprise, some high school dropouts that scored jobs being professional assholes (what i call most security guards) used hyper-aggressive mannerisms to control a situation. It's ironic how we give jobs that require ability to use judgment on how to react to a situation to the dumbest people. It's stories like this that make me glad to live in Massachusetts where the abundance of top notch lawyers would ensure that those men spend plenty of time sitting in a cell where they can learn you don't get aggressive with people who aren't trying to hit you first.

Furthermore, since when can you not leave a hospital if you choose to? Also, how would they not have looked into who the patient actually is when he explained he wasn't the person who was scheduled for surgery. I'm not sure how much truth lies on the side of the guy claiming to be the victim here.

Well I know quite a few security guards. Just a bunch of jerks who feel some void in there life that they try to over-compensate for by being "macho." These people that take on guard jobs know that they aren't exactly Einsteins so they need to feel good about themselves in the only way that they know how to, which of course is by bullying around another person. Remember back in high school when the guys that always got into fights were the idiots in the stupid people's classes? Well, in the future they all get jobs like this where they can continue to take out aggression on people to feel good about themselves. Wouldn't it make sense to require some extensive training for people that we put in jobs where reaction to many different types of situations should be the main focus of comprehension?
