Marijuana

I agree that it should be as well. I mean if cigarettes are legal at 18, i say why not make pot legal. Plus, ive never heard of anyone getting out of hand from only being high, as Dave Chappelle said in Half Baked, pot leads to other things, MAINLY junk food.

Marijuana is safer than aspirin, let alone alcohol and cigarettes. Having laws against it is like having laws against spinning around really fast until you get dizzy: it's idiotic and irrational. The only reason for it is because it gives the cops an excuse to harrass young people, blacks, the homeless, and nonconformists, and because the powerful tobacco corporations have the government on a leash.

Alcohol leads to cirrhosis, DTs, and acting like an ass; tobacco leads to emphysema, lung cancer, and inability to sit still for 10 minutes without a fix; marijuana leads to the munchies, creative inspiration, and worst of all, laughter. Wow, good thing the government is out there to save us against choices that are bad for our health! It would be awful if there were fewer people out there driving cars down the sidewalk and more giggling!

Not only should it be legal, every day it isn't is a crime against humanity and all good sense.

To misquote Timothy Leary, 'Weed causes panic and temporary insanity in people who do not smoke it.'

Um, where's the POLL? :evilha:
I don't partake myself but I do think it should be legal.

XOXO

I don't partake, either, but I have a very libertarian attitude about this sort of thing...as long as it doesn't hurt me and mine, I say legalize it.

yes it should be legalized..when my aunt was dying of cancer, her son would sneak some in..it helped her nausea like nothing else...

Abso-frickin'-lutely!!!

There was a time when I'd have said no. But, after seeing proof of the medical benefits of it, for myself and others, I don't see why they don't just regulate it like cigarettes and alcohol. They can liscence it, tax the shit out of it, solve the national debt and move on to drugs that are a danger rather than a help.

I know one thing. They day it gets legalized, I'll be growing it in my garden!

Most of my friends are stoners and as a student i do of course have a toke now and again :idunno: that being said i agree that it should be legalized.

it should absolutely be legalized, or at least de-criminalized as it is in some other countries. but as long as the alcohol and tobacco industries are around to fight against it, i doubt the government will. the same government thats willing to sell you (and makes big tax money on) alcohol and tobacco, products proven to kill thousands and thousands of people a year, will chase you down for smoking a joint. go figure.... :illogical

Duh.

Of course it should be legalized. The only laws that should be passed are ones that involve people harming another persons' life, liberty, or property. Private drug use does none of these. With that rational, maybe the government should regulate how many calories we digest every day. After all, obesity is a huge problem now, and can lead to heart disease. Because, as we all know, the government knows best. NOT!!!!

Okay, I may be hated for it, but I say no. It may be useful for medical purposes, I don't know. I don't have a clue what statistics say, but other than that, no. And yes, I do enjoy a joint or two a week. None the less, I say no. What purpose would it serve to legalize it? It impairs people and they get careless, whether it is worse or ever safer than alcohol. My own little brother at age 14, 14!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, says "I drive better cause I am more focuses." That is a load of B.S. I have smoked on and off for five years, and I know that focused or not, I still swerve when I'm high.

I was going to ask why your brother is driving at age 14. Then I noticed where you're from. 😉 I guess in a state where "country cruisin'" is pretty much accepted, driving while high isn't that out of the realm of possibilities. But, as with alcohol, if people stayed put after indulging, there'd be no problems along those lines. IMHO, the focus doesn't need to be on making laws. It needs to be on teaching people a bit of common sense.
