massage therapy/tickle practice?

hi,

i don't post much and i'm more of a lurker than anything.. mini-intro: my name is robyn and i'm a 24 year old massage therapist in the philadelphia area.. i've been practicing for just about 3 years and i love it.. recently i've been toying with the idea of adding a kinky little twist to part of my practice.. i'm an insatiable 'ler and i wonder if the idea of a tickle session followed by a massage, or some form of combination thereof would be desirable to the community.. is this marketable? also, where/how would i go about advertising this sort of service? i'm all ears for any feedback, have at me 🙂

Tickling goes great with massage. Massage without tickling is like pancakes without maple syrup. Every time I get a therapeutic massage, I always ask for tickling. I don't always get it, but I always ask for it. Sometimes I strike gold. 🙂

Hey Robyn,

It must be so tempting to tickle someone when you're massaging them. You certainly have a variety of people to have fun with. I would constantly be 'accidentally' tickling people. I'm sure you'll have plenty of takers on this forum. Do you have somewhere private to do this? I don't know how much freedom you'll have at a high-end spa to really get into it.

I used to live in South Jersey, pretty close to Philadelphia. Maybe I can be your guinea pig when I'm in town (which you won't have any trouble finding).

I think you should attend NEST (which is always in Philadelphia) next year and give a demonstration of tickle / massage there. You would surely generate lots of interest and some new clients.

I attended the massage demonstation at the latest NEST. There was plenty of tickling goin on there, but needless to say there was some confusion on how to combine the two. When I get my massages, my girl works them both in quite nicely. It shows it is and can be done. I love my Tickassages..lol

i have a great private massage studio in center city.. even better, the rest of the 1st floor in the building is vacant. it's what got the wheels turning in the first place, the atmosphere is perfect 🙂

Just to let anyone who's interested know...I saw Robyn for a session a few days ago...and it was FANTASTIC!! She's fun as a tickler....AND as a ticklee. She's VERY ticklish everywhere..and has a cute sexy laugh. She was nice and pleasant to be with too. I will definitely be seeing her on a regular basis.

Robyn, I'm an LMP too (8+ years in practice, in Seattle), and all I have to say is"be careful and think twice." Doing this for fun with friends/lovers and other ticklephiles should be no problem.... but you asked how "marketable" this would be and I think that if you started charging for this kind of service, your local/state lregulatory agency might construe it as a professional ethics violation and yank your license to practice.

My 2 cents.

thanks for the feedback! i'm not terribly worried, as i am an incredibly low-volume/low-profile practitioner, though it is a good point. there are also no state licensing laws as of yet in pennsylvania, though i am licensed nationally, i'm really not sure how things would go down if someone wanted to slap me with an ethics violation. i've had fun and good experiences thus far... i'll just continue to knock on the wood panels of my office walls.. 🙂

and seattle is beautiful.. maybe i'll be in touch next time i'm in the area!

Hi! I´m probably getting out of my business but...

Seing how your laws in the states are allways so paranoid (in some cases for good), I can believe you canot openly sell tickling massages while remaining a true massage therapist. This will surely give you trouble as soon as authorities find out.

Apart from authorities,
The problem will allways be that you are now selling something that can be sex oriented (bigger problems come if you offer some kind of bondage) and this will not go well with your therapist job. A therapist is someone on whom we need to trust our bodies and many people will not trust their bodies so willingly when they know you have fetish-oriented activities. It´s a stupid world but it´s what we have! So take care and think twice. You can do it with friends but you need to keep it in a way that it´s your own private business. Once you try to stay open you will be seen as a bit hardcore to all your "vanilla" customers.

Unless....
you or someone else can come up with the theory that a new revolutionary therapy was discovered somewhere 🙂 this is a risky shot that I think could work but it´s really risky 😉 You´d need to show people that you tickle them for health reasons 😉 😉
