I have already confirmed that masturbation is a sin, when you have unpure thoughts, such as porn, sex, nudity, but is it still considered a sin if you masturbate watching fullyclothed foot tickling?

if you think masturbation is a sin..it doesn't matter if you are clothed or not..i used to think it was also..but no longer..

Ok so I thought I could reply to this but I just can't because I'll say something I shouldn't.... Ok I'm going to say it anyway. I'm Catholic and I got into a huge debate with my priest when I was going through confirmation. I told him to say masturbation was a sin was the stupidest Thing I ever heard. I still hold to that. Do you know how many guys would just go crazy if they did not masturbate? I'm mean come on!!!! It's normal!!!! DUH! Hell I know some girls who would go crazy if they didn't.

But to answer your question according to most christians masturbation is a sin it doesn't matter what your looking at. It's the act that is a sin. So yeah...

As long as you don't rub people the wrong way when you do it.

The sin is in the intent, not the act itself. Whether it actually ranks as a sin depends on who you ask....even within specific churches and denomenations. The only time most agree that it's not sinful is when it's the result of compulsive behaviour due to emotional trauma. But, again, it depends on who you ask. AND.....what you believe.

I'm also Catholic and I was told it was a sin. It's not a sin like killing someone or robbing a store, but it's a sin. Just like sex before marriage is a sin.

You actually got into a debate with your priest? That's the most awesome thing I've heard in a long time. 🙂 And I agree with ya. People need that stress release from time to time, or else, they'd all be sexual deviant maniacs. If it is truly a sin, I'd hope it's not very high on the list.

My first question would be: with whom did you confirm that masturbation was a sin? If you are truly devout in your beliefs I doubt that I will sway you, but if you want to get biblical, masturbation dates back to a man who "spilled his seed", as apposed to using it for procreation. His name was Onan. As a result, at one time masturbation was called onanism -- look it up if you are concerned. I have never considered pleasure to be a sin. If we human beings spent more time on pleasure and less time on war, I truly think the world would be a better place. To give pleasure to another -- even to ourselves -- is a gift in my eyes. Why hurt when we can heal? Consider that.

If masturbation is a sin than many people I know are in for one hell of a rude awakining in the afterlife!

But seriously, I'm not putting down your beliefs or anything guy; I just don't agree its a sin. Like other posters have said, if people didn't masturbate from time to time there would be a LOT of sexual deviancy going on...now what would be the worse sin? Wanking off to some photo or actually going out and raping someone? Just my two coppers though 🙂

Just speaking technically;

I have heard Christian clergy state the following, and this is damn near word for word because I was so shocked by it that I asked him to repeat it and wrote it down.

He said that masturbation was a form of the sin of murder, and equally serious.

Here was the reasoning behind it, if you can dignify such drivel with the term reasoning.

Every sperm is a potential human life. Therefore, any sexual activity which 'wastes' sperm by putting in a place where it has no chance of fertilizing an egg and producing a baby is a form of abortion, which they consider to be murder. Therefore, not only masturbation, but fellatio to ejaculation, sodomy, bestiality, frottage, are all forms of murder, as is the use of any form of contraception that actually works, including condoms.

Interestingly, there is one very special circumstance under which masturbation is actually not a sin by those standards; when it is done to create a deposit in a sperm bank! That still keeps the chance of making a baby open, and therefore it is not a sin.

Wild. So jerking off equals murder. Damn, I'm a serial killer! Ahhhhhgggghhhhh! :cry1: :cry1: :cry1: :cry1: :cry1: :cry1: :cry1:

I better go turn myself in. :shake: :wow:

😛

I have a simple solution to this whole debate
All the Christians on the right side :lurking: :disgust:
All the Christians freaks on the left. :imouttahe :grouphug:

Since I’m not a Christian I'll will be in the middle
Watching the leftside. :ermm:

Even that part is questioned by many clerics. They see procreation as an act between the couple and god. So, any "outside influence" is considered to be trying to play god and, therefore, a sin.

BTW, this isn't simply a Christian/Catholic issue. Other beliefs consider it sinful as well...though the terminology is sometimes different.

I'm a Catholic. But, I'm an INFORMED Catholic. That means that I don't take things as Gospel simply because someone with a collar stated it. Pardon the pun. Heck, in todays Church, people wouldn't (and often don't) know what the Church teaches because each priest/nun/lay minister is teaching their own opinion as being official teaching and truth. I take what I've been taught, explore it on my own and figure out what I believe to be the real truth behind it. Some of it is in line with Church teaching and some isn't. :upsidedow

Although lust is a sin the act of masterbation is not. It's never mensioned in the bible. I personally don't believe watching tickling is a sin having the desire to tickle is different then desire to have sex or atleast I hope so. If it is somehow a sin I'm sure the good lord will forgive you.

If one goes through life without sex or without masturbation, it is BAD for the BODY. I'm not talking spiritually, I'm talking physically. How could God want that? It is proven to be literally unhealthy. An outlet has to be somewhere, that's a fact. Now, indiscriminate, immoral sex and what not is one thing. But masturbation is natural, if you're doing it privately. And anyone who says otherwise is LYING. And if they check the Ten Commandments lying is a sin. That's my final say on this specific issue.

It's not a sin, it's not a crime, it doesn't make you go blind and it will make you a much more relaxed person.

Crack one off and good luck to you. Anyone who tells you it's wrong and you shouldn't do it is a boring repressed old fart.

Is it not healthy to practice some self-restraint? I mean, I'm talking between once or twice every 3 or 4 days. I would imagine that to be a copious amount.

this might not matter but.....here goes

Hi guys, I just wanted to say I think the bible is pretty clear on what is sin and what isnt. We like to complicate things and try to think of strange situations where something might or might not be sin. It always comes back to the heart behind the action. Sex is not a sin. The bible is clear on that because God created it for us. The act of masturbation I do not believe to be a sin in all cases. But that is the tricky part, its the act that is not a sin, however the thoughts behind the act very well can be. Again the bible is clear that "lusting" is a sin unless it is for your husband or wife. So, if you can masturbate without lusting after someone then you havent sinned (try that one lol). Anyway, for the people that are quoting priests and pastors remember one thing. They are just people too. We all have opinions about things or judge when God says not to so just keep that in the back of your mind. Read the bible and find out what it says for yourself, dont rely on what others say. Good counsel is great but God wants a relationship with us not a religion, so just trust in what God says, not man. Ok, I think that made sense, at least I hope so lol Good night!

Yes, and said boring, repressed old farts simply can't stand that anyone out there's having a good time while they're expending so much energy being miserable. How dare you! :ignite: It's the cause of so much trouble in the world...

Toss away, folks. I only hope that the image you use rocks.

Ya know...I was waiting for someone to post something from a more real-life perspective. Kayley hit it right on the head. The fact is that it is almost impossible to follow the Bible perfectly since...we aren't God ourselves. More importantly, I've been told from plenty of reliable sources that both the act and the thoughts (if lustful) are sins. I am a very faithful Catholic. Do I always agree with Church doctrine? No. Do I think a lot of people try to justify their sinfulness by trying to filter out the words of the Bible with modern application? Yes. Obviously since it was written so long ago modern pratice clashes quite a bit with the old way of life. What it really comes down to is this: in your heart you probably know what is a sin and what isnt--its spelled out pretty clearly...the question is...how much and what type of sin will you accept of yourself, and how sorry are you for those sins you do commit. If you live your life doing the best you can to be a good person, help others, give thanks to the Lord, and believe in Him with your heart...this type of issue might not be something you should really dwell on. We are all human.

So...good call Kay--I like your thinking. Hope my input helped some people here. And now I'm waiting for the backlash from somone who is Orthodox LOL :jester:

Actually, that depends

on what denomination you talk to. Some Christian sects will tell you it's a sin to lust after your own spouse. You are supposed to do sex only as a distasteful duty to produce new babies to be brought up in the faith (ironically, there are several competing denominations who hold this belief, all of whom despise each other. Go figure). Former President Jimmy Carter was one of those, among his many other faults and shortcomings.
This is one pof many reasons why I never take moral pronouncements from Christians seriously, on any topic.

Taste Religion; nibble on a witch!

Please Read

Read the book "Every Man's Battle" or get the tapes or video, all ur questions will be answered. It even brings up the question if it's still wrong 2 do it to girls who still have clothing on. U'll see how it is possible 2 break the habbit of masturbating and how 2 do it and how to control and get rid of those desires and thoughts that tempts us into doin them. Once u stop u'll be more free than ever, which is what God wants for us. He loves us man, he told us not 2 do certain things so that we would have a better life, not because he wants us 2 be miserable. That book will point out how alot of guys sex lifes with their wifes became sooooooooo much better once they quit masturbating and looking at porn. All the talk about "not masturbating" being unhealthy and stuff is all bs, God designed our bodies to get rid of our sperm so we don't have 2 masturbate, if u go like 3 days and don't have a wet dream by than u end up pissing it out. Alot of people will tell u it's not wrong because the devil wants us 2 keep doin it and tricks us into thinking its ok. Another reason some people will tell u it's not wrong is because if we stop doin it than that means less money for all the porn companies out there lol. Please get that book before u decide for urself if it's wrong or not. Peace of Christ and God bless u bro.

The bible is rather vague on masturbation. I'm not sure of what scripture, but, "It is better to plant your seed in the belly of a *****, than on the earth". Also it's not a sin if you don't commit fornication while doing it (don't think about anything basically). Seriously, tickling, probably not too much of a problem, just so long as you don't lust after the person being tickled.

Hey, everybody's different.Who the heck can say what's "copious" for every other guy out there? Especially when the topic in question is masturbation, something that don't involve or effect NO ONE else but the person doing it.If the stress relief/enjoyment factor for me doesn't coincide with another person's they have some issues.Playing your stereo too loud and smoking cigarettes directly EFFECTS and BOTHERS other people, maybe the good Lord should punish those kinds of people. Last time I checked, there's no such thing as 2nd-hand masturbation, and no one knows I've done it unless they are told. So the premise of this debate goes out the window, in my book.
