Mavs get a major addition in trading for Shawn Marion

As a Mav`s fan it is good to see them being major players this off-season. Marion is a huge pickup who will excell playing in Dallas`s uptempo style with the re-signed Jason Kidd . Marion just turned 31 so he should still have 2 to 3 years left before his skills start to diminish.

If the Mav`s get resticted free-agent Marcin Gortat fron orlando then they definately are in top 4 of Western Conference.

i dont know much about the mavs but didnt they get rid of 4 people in that trade? i would think that would hurt more than help

Thet got rid of three players . Stackhouse which I like but he is in decline and missed most of last year with injuries. Devean George is another aging player in decline and Antione Wright who was a part-time starter that had some decent play at times but also disappeared at times.

Mavs got four players in return but Marion is only one they wanted. Plugging Marion at small forward allows Josh howard to move to shooting guard. With a front line of Dirk , Marion and either Dampier or hopefully Gortat; Mavs should be one of the best rebounding teams in the league. Kidd pushing the break with wingers that love to run in Howard and Marion should lead to alot of easy baskets. Plus Marion and Howard are very good defenders which should help when Kidd can`t cover the speed PG`S of the league like Parker or Williams.

They can field a starting line-up of four former all-stars and only Kidd is over the age of 31.

think it's a good pick. I like "the Matrix", and I want to see some good competetive Mavs games against my lakers. I wish the lakers had seriously considered signing Marion a few years ago when he left the Suns.
