Mechanical Sex . . . Mechanical Tickling

There is a fascinating article in the current online issue of Salon.com about the growing popularity of porn that features women having sex with very powerful machines--dildoes on steriods. Here's the link:

It's almost on-topic because there has always been a contingent among ticklers that also favors mechanistic tickling. We've all seen cartoons and read stories about tickling machines. The interest in goats and cats licking helpless feet is in the same ballpark. And there are some out there who have a strong interest in other kinds of depersonalized tickling--ghosts, aliens, living plants, etc.

As tickling and sex often (but not always) co-mingle, it might be worth discussing the relative appeal of tickling by human ticklers and non-human ticklers. Do some of us find one type clearly better? Or, are we just so enthralled with any kind of tickling that we'd gladly watch a movie of Jessica Alba tickled by an alien robot lizard?

While the idea of inescapable tickles from a machine is fine for fantasy stories, I'd have no interest in it for reality. I much prefer a person who can verbally tease...and be teased back. For me, that's half the fun.
