Get to know the person at the very least. Talk on the phone, meet up for coffee and get inside their head a bit. See if he/she can keep their hands to themselves and be civil or they are just horny people.

I'd say just spend some time talking to the other person online or on the phone for awhile before you meet up. I met someone through the site back when I lived in Michigan, and she and I talked for a few weeks before we decided to meet up. When we finally did it felt more like meeting a friend than just a random tickling hook up.

Tried to look up your profile. Did not show. Therefore couldn't tell even if you were male or female. Having a profile would be a good start. Depending, I could be very interested.
Don't meet up with anyone you haven't spoken to enough to feel like you can trust them. Possibly arrange to meet them in a populated area first, like getting coffee or something. Make sure someone knows where you're going and who you're meeting with if you don't feel 100% comfortable. And generally, carrying mace or something of the sort is always a healthy way to prepare just in case of a worst case scenario.

Make sure you trust the person. Talk to them for a while, and I don't mean a few messages back and fourth. Just be safe about it before wanting to meet with someone you just met online.

I agree with everything everyone has said so far. The most important thing is to trust your gut no matter what. I have talked to a few people who wanted to meet. They seemed nice, lived in my area, even had met people for sessions before. On paper it seemed perfectly fine -- but there was something about them I just couldn't shake, so even though I couldn't explain it or justify it, even to myself, I didn't meet them. They might be very good, safe, fun people - but when your instincts are telling you something isn't right, you've got to trust them.

Tips for meeting someone
I agree with all the previous posts. I've met a few women from the site and my advice is to definitely talk on the phone a few times first. Find out what their interests are beyond tickling and this site. Do they have friends? What do they do for fun (besides the obvious)? etc. Set some boundaries for your first meeting. Meet in a public place for the first time. Make sure you agree beforehand that one or the other can walk away if they change their mind or feel that something is just not right. I hope this helps!

The first time I get together with someone, I always meet them in a public place and have my husband with me. I like to get to know them first and make sure we have a connection. You can't just have anyone tickle you or tickle them, I feel without getting to know them first. I have to have some type of connection. Once I have that warm and fuzzy I make a date to get back together to do a tickling session. To me it's so much more comfortable that way and you feel like you know a person a little bit better. This has always worked for me. And yes I have said no to some.
I don't get why this has to be any different than online dating. I think it's the same thing. Chat on here for awhile. Add one another on facebook so you at least see that they have a circle of friends. Then meet up for sushi or drinks. If there is sexual chemistry take the party back to one of your places or postpone for a date or few more.
Meeting up shouldn't be about tickling. It should be about two people getting to know one another. Tickling can come up but that is weird. It should just happen. I use the rule that you don't talk about sex till you have it. I'd say it applies to tickling too. The two of you can get physically acquainted after you've been mentally acquainted.
Of course let someone know where you're going and who you're going with. Don't be afraid to excuse yourself to let your friend know things are ok. If he's a gentleman he'll understand. As a guy I don't reccomend going home with him that night.........all though I love it when they do with me! Offer to pay, but a gentleman will always refuse....especially on the first date. Take seperate vehicles so he doesn't know where you live right off the bat if you get a less than cool vibe off of him.
