Men with long nails? Good for tickling, or just plain disturbing?

Just wondering what the general feel is about guys with long nails. Is it cool? Not cool? Good for tickling? Weird? Gay? Metrosexual?

Is it "sexist" or "bigoted" to think guys who grow their nails long are weird or effeminate?

Guys, would you grow you nails long for any reason?

Ladies feel free to chime in as well your thoughts as well? How do you feel about guys with long nails.

There's no right or wrong answers here. Just looking for opinions and discussion.

For the record, I personally prefer to keep my nails short and well manicured. I can't think of any reason I would have to grow them long.

I think it's weird and totally unsexy. But then I am not a big fan of long nails in general, be it on men or women. They don't have to be real long to tickle anyways, it's enough if they are grown a little bit and not totally freshly cut.

For me, it's creepy. Like riannon says, they don't have to very long to be effective for tickling. Short(er) and clean.

Depends on the actual length, I suppose. If it starts peeking over the fingers, that might be too long. I think if it's level with the tips of the fingers that would be the cut-off point. Anything else would look too much like claws and I'd worry about getting scratched.

In general, it is great to see it only in sophisticated women and NEVER in men. Personally, I don't grow long finger nails because they can hamper me from doing functional tasks.

I keep mine well groomed and short but haven't cut them yet for an upcoming session but not too long. 🙂

That would turn me off so hard, I can't even explain it. If a guy had long nails, he better basically be perfect in every other way or I'd be running in the opposite direction. Even in the case of a perfect guy, I couldn't deal. I'd give him a chance to change it, though.

This hasn't ever been a problem, really. I've only seen a few males over the course of my entire life that had long nails and they were not my type in any other way either. I don't think it's sexist or bigoted to have an opinion about what you want. It would only be sexist or bigoted if we were somehow trying to take away the right to have long nails. People can do whatever they like, they just can't touch ME at the same time.

I would find it a little odd, but to be honest, I wouldn't care that much. Personally, I tend to keep my nails in the short-to-medium range (just a guess as i'm not really sure where you draw the line on this), as I find having a bit of nail is useful for practical reasons, ie, that itch that needs scratching, tickling, or more commonly, I find them useful at work, where I need to work with precision with small parts, and fingers just don't have the fine enough edge to get the job done skillfully enough.

Long nails on men? Meh. I'm more concerned about if they are assholes or not. If they were decent people, I'm sure I wouldn't care.

This!

My nails tickle just fine, as long as I can avoid biting them. I know it's a disgusting habit, but if I had someone I could tickle, I would stop immediately!

:hmm: Apparently, classically trained or flamenco guitarists need not apply. Count me out then, because I do a bit of both along with electric, and the nails on my right hand are longer than on my left.

I once worked with a guy who grew his nails long. He had a wife and two kids, but those nails made him look a little...odd, somehow. :illogical

I prefer short nails on ladies too.

If we're talking nails as long as a lady's, then I think it would look disgusting and kinda trashy. I've seen men use the steel fingers before, but naturally grown nails would just be a turn-off.

Uh, if it starts peeking over the fingers? Isn't that the normal length to have them right at the tips of the fingers? Your response kind of confuses me... guys having them at the tips is not having them long and that's normal, any shorter then it hurts if you cut them off because it's at that pink part... I think it's called "The Quick" but I'm not sure... So you're answer would be no, don't have them long?

Just finished cutting my nails after a weekend of tickling after I let my nails grow longer than I usually would specifically for the tickle action I had lined up. They worked as desired......though let me say I only let them grow 2 - 3 mm. Long enough for me to know they're longer than normal and to be effective in tickling, but still short enough not to draw attention unless someone was paying me A LOT of attention over time and recognized them to be longer than usual.

I've never known a guy to grow his nails long on purpose. Some guys just don't remember to clip until they discover (usually in horror) how long their nails have gotten.
