Metallica Fans: Best Album?

I think the undisputed masterpiece is Master of Puppets. I think this is the 2nd greatest album ever made, right behind Iced Earth's "Night of the Stormrider"

Master or Kill 'em All.

Or the Black Album.

Well..I like them all.

Master of Puppets, very closely followed by Kill 'Em All. I'd probably put Ride the Lightning at number three, but at more of a distance.

Ummm, easily 'Master of Puppets' is the best album they ever released.

See the thing is though...the thing is...this 'Death Magnetic' is growing on me sooooo much that when I was drunk the other night, I said to my friend that 'Death Magnetic' is my second favorite album of theirs.

For the record, 'Master of Puppets' made it to No.26 on the US Billboard Charts a couple of weeks ago, 22 years after it was released. It as released the year I was born, '86. Astonishing.

What is even more amazing, is the first four albums Metallica released were recently back in the top 100 on the US Billboard Charts, due to the new album being released.

The Black Album made it back to number 21.

For me, probably my fav album like most have said here is Masters but I really love Lightning too and well, again like a few of you's I'm really digging the latest offering; Death Magnetic. I think Death Magnetic for me could turn out to be one of their classics. I know for sure as soon as the CD has stopped playing, it goes on again and I now have it on repeat, its friggin addictive.

I really can't wait to get to hear this one live next year wooooohoooooo

Masters is the best album by far was disapointed in the last one thought it was garbage and all but i see there back to there roots love the new album bought it at 12:01 on itunes lol 2nd best..black album and 3rd choice..and justice for all..cant go wrong with there very first video of ONE

I gotta go with Ride the Lightning. I'm not usually one to "rate" and list albums by a band, they all have their inherant strengths. But, RTL holds a special place for me.

I don't want to come off as a complete cock here, but Stormrider is your favorite album? How familiar are you with the rest of the american powermetal and/or thrash-scene?

The S&M album was awesome but I assume I can't pick that since it's pretty much a 'best of' album.

Ride the Lightning, hands down for me. Time was I never went anywhere without that cd (or cassette, depending on the time period) in my car.

After that would be Master, followed closely by Kill'em All. And personally, I loved the $5.98 EP, even if it was all covers.

Most of everything they put out after the black album was only good for making all the older Metallica fans hate them.

Master of Puppets of course. I also like the "Metallica" and not black album one ( apart 2 songs, teh ballads, but hey at least they tried )
