For those of you who watch this i have a question. Ive been watching it about 2 years now and is it just me or does it seem they have more shows without one or both of the Mikes then they have with them? Seems like 3 times a week every week one of them is missing

I hear ya..I watch Mike and Mike too..Really pisses my off when 1 and replacements there (which happens FAR too often)..or even worse BOTH are out! I'll turn it on and if i see 1 missing off it goes..i mean whats the point!?..The show is NEVER as good

They usually have a lot of replacements during the summer...the "YAWN" season for sports. No championships or playoffs (after the NBA and NHL) and the MLB Regular season is sooooooooooooooooo long and boring that there is little news during the end of June until August to really report, so often time Mike and Mike take their vacations during this time. When college football and the NFL start up, they roll every day and every week without break.

If you were going to allow your best morning team to take a break, when would you allow it? I think they make the right choice. I rarely listen during the summer either, but once the holy trinity of sports starts (College Football, NFL Football and College Basketball) then I listen every single day.

I find this same problem with WEEI, the Boston Sports Radio station. In the summer, when there is only baseball to talk about, most of the regular hosts take vacations. It really sucks for those like myself, who really only care about baseball. Ah well.

They obviously get a good many weeks of vacation time at ESPN and they always seem to use a good portion of it during the summer in the down period from the end of the NBA finals to the start of NFL training camp. I'd expect the vacation days to wrapping up after this week.

I know Jim Rome gets about 8 weeks of vacation a year, as part of his contractual agreement (a fact he makes the Clones well aware of), and as part of ESPN I can imagine Greenberg and Golic getting about the same amount. Then again, given the amount of cross promotion that both men do with the ESPN brand, and the amount of personalities under the contract of ESPN, I can imagine both men having much more vacation time then people like Dan Patrick.
