-1- Significantly more money by averting your plans
-2- Money more easily (and/or quickly) than by keeping his original word


In romance

-1- A "better" mate/wife/boyfriend/girlfriend/etc.
-2- Freedom from irresponsible promises made during passionate moments

[C] Government/Education

-1- A larger budget appropriation
-2- A promotion for himself
-3- A person of a different race/sex/age/size/etc. into a desired position
 
i can't even count the times i say "its been a pleasure to meet you" when it really was just above the tolerable threshhold for surgery without anesthesia.

Id say anything like infomercials that say free ot just 1999, ya know

the next day "sorry i was hanging out with my friends and i forgot to call"
