SO where would you see yourself fitting in best?

the radical, free loving 60's? the swingin' 40's?

perhaps on the western front in WW 1. maybe as a viking during the discovery years.

do you prefer the days of ancient rome, or greece?

think and tell.

i liked allthe old seventies an eighties rock music somaybe then! or the hippy era! quite happy with been here an now tho we got more privaledgeS!lol

For me a Tie

Between the Colonial/ Revoultionary period of US history( I have a fondness and am a student of that time period ) and the Medieval time period. The Revoultionary period was exciting to me because it was a time of new Ideas(The Enlightenment and things of that nature) and discovery and the forging of the US Nation. LOL That and I think the manner of dress was awesome too( the corset type long skirt dresses are incredbile tho NOT comfortable! lol and the men with their knee breeches and stockings.. Hmm I wonder if there were any ticklephiles back then.. 😀 Tickling men's tootsies in silk sotckings) lol.

I belong to a living history orgainzation, the SCA ( www.SCA.ORG) , the duplicates life in Medieval Europe from 600 -1600 AD, from costumes to banquets and medieval crafts( making chainmail, lether work, basketweaving Armoury, ect) , as well as fighting with swords, rapiers and staffs. You can choose to be any "persona" of European Medieval history, tho in my own group we even have a Japaneese samurai( complete with Kitana) and @ one festivle I have seen a Mayan warrior! 😱 My own persona is Lady Mairead Ni Domnall a 12th century Irish nobleman;s daughter who is a bard.

i would teeter between two extremes:

living as an english noble on an estate in the countryside, circa 1800.

and,

as a fierce samurai warrior who kills everything in sight, and has numerous concubines.

Can we hop around? Take me to fuedal Japan, little enlightenment, ancient Rome would be nice to perfect toga making technique(even though I'm widely acknowledged as the toga expert within my group of buddies) I wouldn't mind a stop in the 30-40's, "Alright schee? It's bootleggin' time, schee? Beat it! It's the fuzz!" I'd definitely stop in the sixties, free love and tickles my barefoot ladies, and heck, I'd even return here, everyone here isn't so bad.

I would have loved to have lived in one of three eras. Either the turn of the century, around the time of Mckinley, with the industrial boom. The roaring 20s, when money was plentiful, things were good socially, and society was happy, or during the 50s and early 60s, when we had a stable economy for the middle class, family values were important, society cared about one another more, and families weren't breaking up all the time. The deterioration of values in our society is very troublesome, and I have often told my mom I wish I was born earlier. If things are this way now, and I live until say, the age of 80 in the year 2050, it is troublesome to think of what things my be like by the end of my lifespan.

The most interesting period to me would be either the early Roman Empire or Europe from about 1900 until World War 1.

No suprises folks........

.....WW2, buzzing about in a mark nine spitfire, straffeing the Hun over northern france, or, at around the same time, sitting in "The Royal Roost" or "The Five Spot" in New York listening to Charlie Parker inventing a whole new musical language.

Well, this won't come as a surprise to a couple people, but I would LOVE to have lived in the early 1800's England. Of course I would have preferred to live in the upper class, but the non-working middle class would work just as well. Or, maybe I could be just a gently bred lady and fall in love with some dashing, handsome, titled man. Hmmm... Kinda sounds like my life now, without the title! :smilelove I have been a fan of this era since I first read Georgette Heyer and Jane Austen. For those of you who do not know this era, think the movies Sense and Sensibility, Emma, and Pride and Prejudice, to name a few.

For those history buffs, you will notice that my username is Prinny, which is the nickname of the Prince Regent from that time. Yeah, I know, I'm a girl. But it sounds cute!! This is also the era that inspires me the most in my writing. It gives me the opportunity to use my wit and humor that I normally can't project in the real world.

If I Had to choose any more eras, I would take Ancient Greece, the Renaissance, or the early 1900's.

I see myself see sawing between the 50's and 60's.

Values are very important to me and it seems like that it was most pronounced during the 50's when families were more in tact. It also seems like life was alot simpler back then as well. I always like to live the motto KISS (Keep it simple stupid).

I also see myself in the 60's because of my laid back type of nature. Again, another time where things were simpler and we didn't have to worry about being sued by someone else like we do today.

I often wish I was alive during the 50's to see how life was like first hand and when the stigmas of political correctness were absent as well as more prosperous economic times.

Interesting topic!

I would be interested in Post Civil war Say 1890-1900 and I also might have liked the 1920's as the economy was booming and everthing was new.

I would have loved to be around during the Early Roman Empire myself.

Here's a new one...I would love to be a Native American Indian in say 1500AD...100-50 years before Europe came over on 3 boats.

Welcome to the board, Prinny! You sound interesting...
I would've loved to have lived in late 19th Century New York. I'd have loved to watch the city grow.

Prinny and Flat foot........

.....pleased to meet you both.Flatfoot, I share your admiration for Mozart, having played a fair amount of it myself. The man is, as we say over hear, "the dogs bollocks". I love the later stuff like "Adagio and Fugue" christ almighty......it makes me realise what a waste of time my own life is.

I'd definitely pick the 60's. That way I could see the Leafs actually WIN a Stanley Cup, LOL 😀 😀 Would been cool to see Pink Floyd play live in their prime too, though that would have been the 70's 😉 😎
