The more I read about this child the more disgusted I get! Sh*t like this makes me want to be God for a day. Since God is omnipotent, I would be able to see which people would be good parents and which would be no more than biological lottery winners who would abuse and mistreat their kids. Then I'd sterilize them all so they'd never be able to have a child to hurt in the first place. Just because someone can reproduce doesn't mean they should!

As for the rest, I'll go with Jeff because I firmly believe the punishment should appropriately fit the crime.

Sometimes I feel there's something in the water in my state; we get some of the most bizzarre child abuse and death cases. Most of them from their own parents..........

If every parent reacted in anger or rage when their two year old went crazy on them, we would've been extinct ages ago! I have two grand-nephews that would give God a headache, but to beat, torture, and kill them over the words "please" and "thank you" just doesn't register in the realm of sense.

Then this heifer's smiling across from her lawyer?? "Hey, I drowned my kid repeatedly and I beat her senseless, but I didn't kill her." "I just let my man (not even the baby's daddy) hurl a thirty pound two year old into a wall and broke her skull open-but I didn't kill her, he did!" "I threw my baby into a cooler and dumped her in the lake, but I didn't kill her!"

I just want five minutes with this skank.....five minutes will be enough then my case would replace hers! She wouldn't need a lawyer.....she'd need a doctor or even coroner by the time I turner her hillbilly ass loose!

I'm sorry, but I've seen way too much of this that doesn't make headline news and I get more pissed with each incident!

I am usually pretty reluctant to state opinions on stuff like this, but seriously it's too screwed up for words. It almost makes me sad that my taxes are going to feed this woman. I never have understood cruelty to a child, especially your own. If i thought i was capable of doing even a tenth of the things that were done to this child, i would have given my kid up long ago to someone with more patience.
The world lacks patience as well as a desire to see outside of one's self. It's a scary combination but becoming more prevalent.

I'm so glad they finally identified who Baby Grace was, but it's sad that this is what happened to her that led to her death. Who would do that to a kid? She's 2, she's still learning how to do things. They're not going to get it the first time, especially if you beat them.

Being a parent, I'm a firm believer of corporal punishment; when used correctly.

However, this woman has very serious issues; she surly needs to be put away for the rest of her life.

It just shows how mentally disturbed we have become. I have notice younger parents becoming so stressed out that they lost the ability to reason. When dealing with young kids; they are not little people; they are children.

Their minds are not developed to make complex decisions; kids comes with very different personalities. As a parent you need to be able to shape their personality and mode it to what is acceptable to the household.

Just because your able to have babies; doesn't mean you she have them. Specially at the age of 16 - 20 yo. At that age you have not ideal what it takes to be a parent; and in my opinion, these books on child rearing is a joke.

To say there is one way to raise a child is utterly criminal.

Again, this woman is completely insane, she should never had the opportunity to have children. However, this is not China or Old Germany; we can't force them to give up their rights.

The thing that got me was a combination of seeing her picture and this: "But prosecutors say Trenor did nothing to save her daughter, not even when Riley told her mother "I love you" as she was being beaten."

I mean...how could anyone really do this to their own baby girl? Beat her while she's crying from the pain and then continue when she cries "I love you" to her mom.

Her "husband", whom she met online playing World of Warcraft, was directly responsible for her death via skull fractures. It wasn't his child, not that it really matters, but it begs the question: "Where was Daddy to protect her"?

The mother was present for all the "discipline", but "didn't intent for this to happen". Nice defense. In Texas, they have the death penalty, and use it. Not this time, though, because prosecutors don't believe she's a danger to society, just her own helpless little girl. Illogical, but those are the guidelines.

Her age. The Mom is 20 yr. old now and the little girl was 2+ years old. So she was pregnant at 16 or 17 years with no father in sight? I'm sorry, but she had no business having a child she couldn't care for. It's a kid having a kid, who wasn't remotely ready for the immense responsibility. These situations usually never turn out good.
This is, of course, an extreme case of cruelty, but I'm speaking as a whole, it's not a good situation for the child, mother, boyfriend, relatives...or anyone involved, especially the child.
Funny, we haven't heard from either set of grandparents or family members. It screams "White Trash P.O.S." loud and clear.

I like to think the little girl is in a better place now. No more pain or suffering to endure in her short life.

I also like to think there's a special place in Hell waiting for these two so-called "parents" after they die, rotting in prison.

There is a father and entire family in cleveland; she moved away with her boyfriend or whatever and took the kid with her. I'm not even sure the family knew where she was until the sketch came out; the grandmother recognized the sketch and called police. It's hard to get interviews with the dad or family members-they have been devastated by this.

This case has been going on for several months locally; it's just getting around the national scene.

I don't agree with corporal punishment of any kind. Obviously, this is on another level completely, but it wouldn't be surprising if either of the parents were beat to some extent when they did something wrong as kid, thus teaching them that hitting a kid with a belt is some kind of acceptable way of disciplining, or showing a child you're angry with them.

Some people really need to be sterilized.

As a father of 2 little girls, both of whom I was with when they were both 2 years old this shakes me to the core and I shed more than a few tears over this. All I can remember is my little ones. I was always spanked a lot, hit and thrown around as a child, when I grew up I vowed never to hit my children. I can not fathom going to that extreme on any child.

There is a thing called "You get what you deserve", I don't think anything has yet to be invented for them to receive.

Just heartbreaking. I called my kids after reading this, just to remind them I love them....and my youngest told me mommy just got done spanking her.....
After I hung up, I broke down crying.
