I'm liking London a lot, despite the weather. It seems there's a LOT of rain in the morning, which clears up around 4pm...sheeesh! The people have been so wonderful--they seem to be keen to speak to anyone with an American accent. Cute. However, SouthEast Asian Brits seem to have a hard time understanding Me, so I'm making an effort to e-n-u-n-c-i-a-t-e everything. Gosh, it's made Me realize how sloppy the NY accent is!
Haven't had any tickling sessions as of yet, but I certainly hope to tickle Chris sometime before I leave. 😉
London has SO much to offer--except for 24hr. NY-style delis, which I miss! Really, there are so many cultures living here, and I find that some things, like food and drink, aren't as expensive as i'd been warned.
Just yesterday I went to a fab Persian restaurant (Shehrezade) with bellydancing show, then a GREAT Latin club called 'Salsa' where they played everything from salsa, merengue, cumbia, techno, pop, etc!! I was SO flabbergasted at the amount of Anglos either dancing the night away nicely or going off into the dancefloor alone, desperate to learn new moves. Excellent!
I'll have more details later on--I leave on the 22nd but come back on Jan 11th for more...
