HIM (as if you couldn't guess already from my signature picture)

I could seriously have a wet dream to thier music. Is that even possible for a guy to do? 😛 It's so touching and amazing and beautiful. It sends chills up and down my spine. I have thier Razorblade Romance album. And i'm hoping to get my hands on thier NEW album ''Dark Light'' either tommorw or with in the next few days. I have listened to thier new song and watched thier new video ''Wings of a butterfy'' close to like a million times.

And yes i heard about HIM way before Bam Margera label **********d the band all over his tv show and body. I just didn't listen to HIM's music until Bam Margera's show came on Mtv.

I like all kinds of music, right now though, "Ten Thousand Fists" by Disturbed is not leaving my CD player for a while. Before this CD came out it was "Getting Away With Murder" by Papa Roach. I mainly into rock (alternative and heavy mostly) but I also like some of "Today's Music" like Fallout Boy and Nickelback. My range is music is very broad.

''Down with the sickness'' is my favorite song by Disturbed.

FYI my girl loves Fall Out Boy's ''Sugar we're goin down'' song. But i can't stand it.

That is the only song I do like from them 😀 . By the way, i forgot to mention that I also like HIM, but I have to admit, i liked them because of Viva La Bam. I jumped on the bandwagon :idontwann . But like I said, Disturbed and Papa Roach are my top 2 bands, one reason is that they write their own lyrics and I respect that in a band. It means the songs actually have some meaning to it, not just words put in front of them and them singing it. "Down with the Sickness" is a great song, but the new CD totally kicks it's ass. "Stricken" and "Sons of Plunder" are the best by far. If you get a chance, listen to some of the songs from the CD. If you like "DWTS" you'll like this CD.

I'll have to take a listen to Disturbs new album. Thanks for the heads up Hey_Look_Its_Me

I'm also fond of screaming bands. I know the whole ''scream o'' genre is not for everyone. But i sure do love it.

Bands like

Atreyu
Alexisonfire
Fear Before The March Of Flames
From First To Last

To name a few...

There are a lot of local school bands where I live who perform sream-o, and I have to admit its not bad, but I like to understand the lyrics im listening to 😀 . But they are just school bands too. Scream-o isn't TOO bad but its not one of my preferences. Like I said before, my music range is very broad so i pretty much like some of everything (except rap and "Britney Spears Pop")

My parents hate my music tastes. It's kind of funny actually when i play my '' scream o'' bands my parents are always asking me what they are saying. Oh well though like i said it's not for everyone.

My music tastes range from Rap (not so much anymore though now it's every now and then now when i feel like it) to scream o to gothic music to mainstream mtv vh1 type of music.

How many albums of HIM's stuff do you own Hey_Look_Its_Me?

Im getting the newest one next paycheck, and im probably going to their concert at the Electric Factory. I dont know any songs by name (except wings of a butterfly) but I like most of their music.

Your going to a concert of thiers? Ooooh your lucky. 🙁

I heard that they put on breath taking concerts live. Buy Razorblade Romance by them to. It's a must own!. That was the first album by them that i bought.

The concert is near Thanksgiving, the 23rd i believe. I will definately look into buying the first album, thanks for the heads up.

Welcome. I don't even think that HIM has even held a live conert here in the Northwest where i'm from. Darn. 🙁

My co-workers at my job who i used to work with before they went back to High School to finish up thier senior and junior years this year. They went to The Warped Tour 2005 and when they came back the next day to work they said that everybody there was getting high and smoking weed and moshing and crowd surfing. Total crazyness it sounded like!.

Ive only ever been to a Papa Roach concert and it was fucking amazing (excuse my language). it was pure enjoyment from start to finish. Moshing and Jacoby shaking hands and it was awesome. I cant wait for disturbed!!

It's ok. I think you can cuss on this forum just NOT AWHOLE LOT since it's looked down apawn by most members.

I've been to a bunch of Christian Metal bands like Zao Demon Hunter to name a few. I also listen to some Christian bands (harder stuff) (well since i'm a Christian) so like i said before my music tastes ranges from all over.

Concerts are so darn expensive now a days though. You can pay a quick arm and a leg if your not careful.

Im christian too, i also curse a lot though. Anyway, there is a "venue" in Philly called the Electric Factory. Some big names play there and they are relatively cheap. Papa Roach was $18, Breaking Benjamin was like $22 or something like that, and Disturbed is $32.50. Its standing room so its ALL one price and you can get as close, or as far away as you want to the stage.

Wow thoses prices aren't bad. My older brother rick (who i believe is 36 now) him and his wife jen (who is 28 now) there going to a U2 concert in December and thier tickets for the both of them cost them somewhere in the range of $200+ plus dollars.

Do you go to alot of concerts then i take it for those kind of prices?

I try, i dont actually live in Philly but I live close enough. I havent been to many concerts, but I will by the time the year is over. Your bro's tickets are probably $200 because first off, its U2, and secondly, U2 usually plays in BIG venues, meaning expensive tickets. The Electric Factory probably holds 1500-2000 people, so to sell it out, the tickets are cheap (thats my guess). For some reason, big venues = big bucks. Green Day played at the Wachovia Center in Philly and my friend went. It cost her something like $250 per ticket i think. Plus its Green Day, Green Day kicks ass, they can charge that much, they'll still sell the venue out. Again, only guessing.

I wish that i was stinking rich so then i would just buy my way for bands that i have always wanted to see play for me. 🙂

I'm not a big fan of Green Day. I never have been for some reason. The only songs that i like by them is ''American Idiot'' and ''When september ends'' such a touching song and music video.

I agree. The thing is, "Wake Me Up When September Ends" is about Billie Joe's dad's death, not about war. The "American Idiot" CD is good but the old stuff is SOOOOO much better. American Idiot isnt normal Green Day, its more "mainstreamed" i guess.

Wow, this thread is already on the second page, and all it is is us two pretty much.

Oh i didn't know that bit of trivia. Hmm interesting. But then again i'm not a Green Day fan so of course i wouldn't have known that. I like the video for ''When september ends'' because my girl said that she thinks of me when she watches it or listens to the song for it. Don't ask me why but she does.

I know. We're the only two people keeping this thread a float so far. Wake up people wake your asses up!

*Throws tomatos into the crowd*

I grew up in the 60s and 70s so it only makes sense that I love the music from those decades the most. I'm a major Beatles fan but lately I've been into Bob Dylan. I now have 17 of his CDs in my collection, and to think it all began because of my love for the song "Like A Rolling Stone."

Well I enjoy most every type of music other than country or heavy metal. But I'd have to say my favorite would be hip hop and R&B, especially the old school stuff from the 80s and 90s. Probably my favorite artist overall is Janet Jackson. I've never missed a concert or an album. I also really enjoy some jazz and reggae.

hm well im into the 'hardcore' or 'metalcore' music of today, but thats because i am an insane heavy metal fan.. bands such as between the buried and me, through the eyes of the dead, unearth, as i lay dying, evergreen terrace, killswitch engage and many more.. there is actually a band called trivium on roadrunner records that i know the lead singer/guitar player of and actually played a show with them when they were still local.. its crazy they made it so big.. i enjoy all types of music though.. my radio preset is the old school jazz station here in orlando and i enjoy everything else from hip hop to rap to reggae to blues to classic rock to anything else.. if it sounds good and has some thought put into it, i can enjoy it.. the main type of music i dont like is punk and pop punk such as new found glory, simple plan, etc etc.. the music got too big and its way too generic and unthoughtful for me.. but i do enjoy older punk such as pennywise, nofx, rancid, misfits.. etc.. ive been playing guitar and bass for 7 years and drums for 4 years.. so music means quite a bit to me

\m/ METAL \m/

I'm a die-hard metalhead myself. oh, and just so we're clear;

the following is a list of bands that people think are metal [for some stupid reason] but aren't

Marilyn Manson
Disturbed
Slipknot
Korn
Limp Biskit
Drowning Pool
Lincoln Park

I don't know what kind of music these bands play, but it's not metal. if it was, I'd renounce metal altogether

and now for some true metal bands (the following are my favorites)

Iced Earth
Blind Guardian
Demons & Wizards
King Diamond
HammerFall
DreamEvil
Primal Fear
Manowar

I also like some of the more well known stuff, such as Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Slayer, and old-school Metallica and Megadeth. but my list of favorites goes on and on and I've taken up enough space as it is

\m/ KISS METAL AND DIE \m/ :firedevil

hi all, maybe there is a similar thread in the forum... anyway i would like to start one about music, about your favourite artist, album, song, and things like that... all you want about music. i'll say about me... i like rock music, even if i'm 19, i like 60's and 70's rock music... especially the doors... they were great... frank zappa was a god.... another thing just to have fun... tell also if you want the best singer, guitarist, drummer, ecc... in your opinion... i'll wait your answer.... orgio

ah by the way i absolutely don't like beatles.... what about you?

There are other threads about music, but I'll reply to yours anyway. 😛

Rock music is definitely my favorite genre, and I don't have a favorite type either; my love for rock spans the entire history of it, from the early rock pioneers in the 1950's to today's rock artists. Sometimes I listen to other genres (pop, hip-hop/rap, dance, and so on), but rock is the best. 😀

You seem to like classic rock, and that's good, because much of the younger generation doesn't seem to know or care about it. I'm ten years older than you, and many people in my age group aren't familiar with '60's and '70's rock, so I can't imagine what it's like for yours. The Doors are one of my favorite groups. 😎

I have to disagree with you on the Beatles, though. Why don't you like them? Is their music too "poppy" for you? I'm just curious, and of course you can listen to whatever you want. 🙂
