Musical Instruments

I did play cello and mandolin, but its been many years ago.I often wish i had kept with it.

Clarinet here. Former band geek. REPRESENT! :cool2:

Some... piano.

I play the radio and air guitar as well.

I play guitar and enjoy just a little piano on the side. ^_^ Too lazy to learn anything else I am.

Guitar here...good ole R&R! I attached a little sample recording I did of Dokken's "Breaking The Chains."

peace out,
daddy

I play piano, not very well but i can make it make harmonious noise. I suppose the term piano isn't correct though since it's a keyboard hooked into an effects mixing board/PA type doodad to make it sound like a piano.

I play the guitar and a little piano.

I'm looking to learn how to play the harmonica next.

I play bass... this one, to be exact:
sbassux5.jpg

1972 Fender Precision Bass (left handed edition)

I play guitar but I screwed myself over when I was a kid. Being a lefty, I picked up a right handed guitar and learned the chords without reversing the strings. No one I played with could follow me because the chords I played were upside down and backwards. So, I switched to a lefty bass and seem to be much more adept with it, although I currently suck due to little or no practice these past couple of years.

Keyboards and some guitar. I take great delight in sequencing and multi-tracking. It's like having my own band to play the stuff I write. I'm currently working on a four-part medley of tickling song parodies, all previously unreleased!

Daddy, now THAT is some good rockin guitar, my friend!! :bowing:

We'll form the unofficial TMF classic rock band, with Frankie on his Fender Precision bass. 😀

I play 7 instruments and always looking to add a new one.

Guitar, Ukulele, Bass, Harmonica, flute (any simple flute so tin whistles, recorders, fife, etc), Drums, and piano. I just got myself a melodica recently (oh wicked fun, has that harmonica sound and plays like a piano).

Hey, Drew! That's incentive for me to practice more often from now on! Give me five years and I should be ready by then (yeah, I'm THAT much out of practice).

played the flute years ago (about 20 to be exact)...recently found my flute but i don't have any music (yet)

I started out as a bassist at age twelve or so and started playing keyboards at 16. I also play guitar (not much of a lead player, sad to say), harmonica, dulcimer, mandolin and few other assorted exotic instruments that I diddle around with.

I'm primarily a keyboardist these days, and like Drew mentioned, love doing things on my workstation and sequencing, recording and such. My current project is a very bizzare "acoustic" version of "The Trees", the Rush classic. I'm doing it as mostly an acoustic piece, but the strange part is that the acoustic guitar is being played on the keyboards. It took me almost twenty hours of work, all told, but between the right amounts and mixes of compressors, waveform reflectors, feedback choruses and gated-delay reverbs I've finally come up with a keyboard based acoustic sound that does not sound synthetic. I've layered it with a string section and have recorded an acoustic bass part over it, and so far, it sounds pretty trippy. Of course, I had to relearn the fingering patterns, as guitar playing and keyboard playing are two completely different animals and I did not want the guitar parts to sound as if they were being chorded rather than finger-picked.

Once I get this all finished, I'll post a quick recording of it. I've been working on a lot of weird shit like this.

I for one would be very interested in hearing it. I'm always looking for ways to "warm up" my sounds. My drums especially are in dire need of work.

I Play...

I play the guitar (both acoustic and electric), the piano, the violin, the triangle & the feather ;D

Yay something I relate to other than tickling! lol

I'm primarily a Violist for life, but I can also play the following quite well respectivly and have won medals or high praise for each;

Violin
Cello
String Bass
Trombone
Baritone
Bassoon
Trumpet
Piano
Organ
Recorder (yes it is a real instrument)
Acoustic Guitar
Percussion (ranging from African drumming, to snare drum, bass drum, quads, drum set, list goes on)

Yep. the term music geek is an understatement for me. I live and breath music. 🙂 😎

Yay! Another 'live, eat and breather' I'm with you on that score - hah, score . . . a musical pun . . . sorry!

I was "put to the piano" at an early age along with the rest of my siblings. We were routinely locked in the practice room when we got home from school and sundays were pure hell when the old man had the whole day to harangue and humiiliate us as we sat at the keyboard. What joy!

I went on to study violin and then trombone and drum kit. Due to dissability I am now re -training on vibraphone.

I have had the priviledge of playing with some top jazz players, when I could play piano, such as Jeanne Tousaint, Don Weller, Dick Morrisey.
