Although my profile says my join date of TMF was 9-9-02, I have a feeling that was the date I registered in this room, as I distinctly recall being in the old TMF room in August, 2002, and I recall Milagros telling me last year that my actual join date for TMF was 8-18 02, which makes this my second anniversary of TMF. So, here is my analysis of TMF for myself, and the way I see things as I enter my third year on the forum:
As many of you who know me are aware, this has been a year of significant change for me, as I have been estranged from my father since March 7th, and had to leave my position of a product brokerage rep in March, because my business was not performing as it should. Right now, Iam an internet auctioneer of antiques and art, and am being trained to be a "power seller" on Ebay through a special program they have. Hopefully, my new business will take me in the right direction of where I need to be.
This has also been a year of significant change for me on TMF, as several people who had previously been close friends of mine have left the forum in 2004, with several others coming into chat only occasionally. Myriads has said in the chat many times that in large groups of diverse people such as TMF, there is bound to be growth and change, and we, the members, need to adapt to it.
For those who have left us, I miss them, wish them well, and hope that they will one day return to the forum at least part time. For my loyal friends who have been with me since the beginning, and are still here in the present, I want to thank you all for your friendship and your support. It has been a great source of comfort to me during my difficult two years that I've been on the forum. I do hope that I contribute to your lives in a positive way as well. To my new friends who I have made on TMF in recent times, Iam happy to have gotten the chance to know you, and that you are a member of the forum. I hope my online comraderie with all of my TMF friends, new and old, continues for a long time.
Of course, I again want to thank Myriads, Ray, Kurch, and all the TMF mods and staff who make this place possible for us to come to. Even despite the changes, I try to remember and be thankful every day for why I joined TMF in the first place, to have an online place to discuss tickling with a supportive group of people.
Finally, I want to thank Jeff for his continued support to the forum and the chat room. I recall Myriads announcing in the room recently that Jeff has renewed the forum and chat for another year, so that we will continue to have a place to gather to discuss tickling and the issues of the world. I know it is quite costly for Jeff to keep this place going, and I for one am thankful that he continues to do so.
I hope this doesnt sound like a cheesy post. As I look back, I have spent a great deal of time on this forum and in the chat for the last two years, and I just want everyone to know how thankful Iam for the forum and the chat and for their friendship. In a time period in my life where many things have gone wrong both personally and professionally in the last two years, TMF is one of the major things that has happened to me that has been right, and I wanted to let the staff and my friends know how much TMF and all of you mean to me. I look forward to gathering on TMF to chat for a long time to come, and, as Iam rebuilding my life and making an improved one, I vow to make TMF an important part of my life, whatever it is that is destined for me in real life in the future. Thanks!
Mitch
One last point I want to make: I want to thank Myriads and Ray for adding the Politics and Religion Forum on to the General Discussion area. Being a history major and politics minor, Politics has always played an important role in my thinking and in my life, and it is nice to have a special place on the forum to post thoughts about that subject and religion, even if the debate can get a little "animated" at times.
