Modding figures is a *great* satisfaction. 🙂
I'd suggest checking some resin-cast anime figures for spare bare feet: while the models themselves are usually just rigid display-figures, the feet are reasonably well-sculpted and selection is relatively broad [some of the models even come in the "pose"] - and adding ankle joints is easy.
Hobby Japan shows a fair number every month - and many of them are just perfect as sources of spare bits.
If you are familiar with casting, you can even copy the parts and waste money only once, on the original figure - then you can produce bits on your own.
You could even go "overboard" and make magnetic joints: from what I've read they fit in more seamlessly and they are easy to produce at home.
Just keep the figure *far* from you hd... 🙂
