As you might know, I had a really bad flood back in March and suffered a total loss in my basement. I had to take down and replace drywall that accumulated mold and replace some studs that became moldy also. Well, after about three months of hard work (I did almost everything with my own two hands) here is some pix I want to share with you. The first three was my family room before and the last two are the family room after.

Looks like you did a great job. I assume those "Time-Life" fix-it-yourself books came in handy?

Just joking giant....awesome job. Glad to see the place is back to normal. Just in time for football season. Isn't life grand.

Rob

Yes. Things are starting to fall into place. I learned aalot by doing thgis myself afa tricks and possible pitfalls. Yeh Rob, the timing couldn't be better. Now I can watch the Giants in my newly decorated room with an ice cold
Fosters in hand.

I also redid my office and the downstairs bathroom. I will upload those piuctures when I am done.

Nice work! Based just on the pictures you posted I think it looks even better then before. 🙂 It stinks, dealing with a flooded house. That happened to my parents once. The basement was not finished but we still lost a lot of stuff stored there that could never be replaced such as family photographs and documents. 🙁

Thank you Bugman 🙂

I certainly hope it looks better than before. Those before pictures were what it looked like after the flood and before I started the work. But, for the record, it is better than before. I used more upgraded materials and gained an additional 200 square feet of space as well. I installed a closet and made an additional storage space. As a matter of fact, the picture with the access door is where the new storage is. Before it was unutilized space, go figure!

Oh, OK, sorry I didn't catch that. I need new glasses. 😱 Or better reading comprehension. :idunno: In any case well done sir, well done. 🙂

Thank you, I appreciate that. Sometimes I think I picked the wrong field (accounting and finance). I worked very hard as I did at work but the difference is that in the end, you see the finished product. I think that is very rewarding.

I am almost finished with the bathroom and my office is done but I have to get some crap out there before I actually take pix.
