My second MMA fight results

I WON!
Official decision: Winner by Knockout from an overhead slam at 1:37 of the second round. My MMA record improves to 2-0.

The guy I fought and I ended up at the emergency room together afterwards. He was a pretty decent guy. Once we're both healthy again, we're going for drinks. Sounds weird considering we just pounded the crap out of each other. My current trainer is also dropping my name at some larger fighting leagues (eep), so you may see me on Pay Per View at some point.

Okay, now for the bad news...

Aside from the general bumps and bruises I've received and the cut beside my eye (healing nicely), Robbie managed to kick my left knee into Jell-O. It's not broken, but the bone is bruised and it requires some physiotherapy (aside from hurting like hell). Anna (my physiotherapist) has heard out my story and has cut me a deal. Limping and pain aside, she has said that if I can walk without crutches by the time my plane leaves, she'll give me some home workouts to do and I'll be able to attend NEST. If not, I'll have to stay in Toronto for more physio and I'll miss NEST. 🙁 .

Nonetheless, I remain optimistic that I'll be there. Your thoughts, wishes, prayers, etc. for a speedy recovery are always appreciated. 🙂

Nice man, always good to win.

Watch your knee man, I know all about them. The only thing I can say is DON'T rush back into anything and take it real easy. I know it might feel fine and you think you can push your rehab a bit further just keep it a slow pace.

After every game of football (soccer) even yesterday my knee doesn't feel 100%, thats prob cause I had major ligament damage and that also I'm putting strain on it but I'm just saying its better for it to be fully healed then rushing into anything.

congrats on your win dude, i was once a martial artist myself (northern shaolin kung fu) , and i feel your pain, i blew out my left knee last year and will never be involved in martial arts again, i can walk, run and do most things just fine, but if i blow it again it wont be pretty. again, congrats on your win, i know that is one tough sport. peace..........BLUE_THUNDER

Many thanks to everyone. You wishes are truly appreciated. And don't worry. I'll make sure my knee gets back to 100% and I will take it easy. The only quesiton is will I be able to walk on it in time for NEST. Here's hoping!

And no, I didn't use any spinning backfists. My standup isn't good enough to start using any fancy stuff like that just yet.

Used to compete in freestyle full contact tourneys back in the 60s and 70s.
Can dig the punishment your body takes.
You know, it was part of the ancient Samurai creed, Bushido, that it was not enough for a man to be only a fighter, he had to have some artistic accomplishment as well.
I love the artwork you post. As an artist and fighter both, you are indeed a true warrior and a complete man, and I salute you!
Back when I studied Shotokan Karatedo and Ying Jow Pai K'ung Fu Wu Su, I also studiend the arts of Chinese Calligraphy and Japanese Cha-No-Yu tea ceremony. Then I discovered I could write.
I wonder if you would ever consider illustrating some of the fiction I've posted in the story section. I would really love that.
