I think I may change my name here to "I hate brushes"! Jesus, it seems like every clip I see here, that's all you see anymore! It used to just bother me a little, but the more I see them, the more I hate them! They're everywhere!!!! Whatever happened to just using fingers?? ARRRRGGGGGGG!!!!!

It doesn't bother me quite that much, but I don't like it much either. It always looks like it would hurt, which turns me off.

+1. I don't care if they work or not; there's nothing sexy about sawing away at someone's feet with a hairbrush.

I've used brushes on women's feet before and they are very effective. That's probably why its used alot, therefore it doesn't bother me. Whatever works. It actually doesn't hurt because its usually those plastic brushes with balls at the end of the bristles. Finger nails can cut the skin easier if done too hard.

I think Phineas said it best, "there's nothing sexy about sawing away at someone's feet with a hairbrush". I agree 100%! They probably are effective, but it just doesn't look the same as fingers scribbling up and down a foot! And not from the sides, either. I see the way some of these people are "tickling" someone, and think "what the heck are they doing? That can't tickle". Sorry, just feel like ranting tonight.

I agree! I think its used far too much. More often than not just to get the big reaction. I prefer tickling vids that showcase the skill of the ler and skin to skin contact, but there definatley is a market for vids where guys just want to see girls laughing their heads off. The brush is just the quickest way of achieving that. Sadly.

A brush also usually blocks the view of the 'lee's foot, which is another down side.

Phineas, U.N.Owen & robmic = all making solid points.

For the viewer (us) videos have to be more about the visual aspects (and to some extent the audible vis a'vie the laughter). I actually FFWD thru the brush scenes sometimes. And like was said above, it doesn't matter how much it makes the ticklee suffer, it LOOKS like it hurts. Some of the "ticklish" reactions are just girls screaming 'bloody murder' with little or NO laughing. Also, I really enjoy it when the tickler finds that small spot where it's the most ticklish and focus right there. The brush obscures this and is more of a "shotgun" approach, scraping over the entire foot

Instead, I've used other stuff that tickle just as well as a hairbrush, like a plastic fork (metal fork works better but takes skill) or a dry ball pen or anything from a makeup kit. Actually, if you use one of those smaller airbrushes (usually round with capped bristles all around), it would be best - it tickles like a hair brush but small enough that it doesn't block the view.

Just some thoughts

Speaking for myself, the only reason they get used is because they work - if they don't, I don't use them. Some models are really ticklish with the brush, some not at all, every now and then I find someone who is only ticklish with the brush. More often than not though, switching between a combination of things is most effective. Tickling is a psychological thing and it is often the unexpected changes in feeling that send people crazy!

Just as if you tickle someone on the same spot for ages it will usually stop tickling after a while, if you use the same approach the same thing will usually happen. This is not the case for everyone - some people you can just use fingers, moving around, varying the intensity etc and they will continue to respond. For others, it will have less effect....using a brush, using baby oil, toothbrush between the toes etc changes the sensation and can have a brilliant effect.

Occasionally brushes are painful, but this is rare in my experience and it is usually only with models that actually find tickling itself painful and complain of sharp nails etc. It's why I tend to avoid sharp objects that look like they could hurt rather than tickle. I find the brush works less well on bare skin, but better on nylons and barefeet with lotion/oil - in fact, in all the shoots I've done I would say the hairbrush/baby lotion thing is the most effective overall. This is why it gets used...I don't think any producers have a thing for hairbrushes or think that they look sexy in any way! 🙂

To brush or not to brush, that is the question. Whether tis nobler for the lee to suffer the strokes of the brush, or to take fingers against ticklish skin...
with apologies to Will

Hey Turtleboy, thanks for your explanation. I like to hear peoples differing opinions. It always gives you in site to what they're thinking. One thing I want to make clear here, is that I'm not necessarily against brushes being used because, like those of you that have used them know, they do work in most instances. But, my biggest complaint with them, is that it seems like now they are being used in every clip I see! Enough is becoming too much! The clips I see where they aren't being used are so much better to me. And I have seen instances where a person was being tickled with a brush, then they switched to fingers, and the 'lee went nuts! I know every situation is different, but like I said before, enough is too much! Of course I also know that there are people out there that will disagree with my opinions. That's fine. That's their prerogative. But, I want any producer out there that want to hear what my opinion is. If nothing else, to help them make better videos. And apparently, I'm not alone with it. Turtleboy, I loved your recent video of Super-Ticklish Becky, and really loved the beginning when she was tickled with fingers. That was awesome! Her reactions were great.
