Skating on Thin Ice--Part I
It was approaching 9:30 p.m. in Colorado Springs at the U.S. OlympicTraining Center. Nearly everyone had departed following the day'sexhibition
of professional figure skaters trying to promote the sport to future Olympichopefuls. Almost 10,000 fans and skaters had turned out for the day longprogram which featured the likes of Brian Boitano, Scott Hamilton, KristiYamiguchi, and Nancy Kerrigan among others. The faithful were notdisappointed in the outstanding display of some of skating's greatestperformers. There were a few tense moments, however, after Kerrigan took anasty spill into the boards attempting a triple axle. Her trainerpronounced
it as just a badly bruised right hip, nothing too serious. The rest of theday went without a hitch. But by this time almost everyone had cleared out.Kerrigan was one of the few left behind. She was in the women's locker roomsoaking her sore hip in a portable whirlpool tub. Exhausted and sore, Nancyrested her head on a towel and propped her ankles up on the outside of thealuminum tub. The humming of the whirlpool was soothing and the skater puta
cool facecloth over her face and began to doze.
"Don't fall asleep, Nancy," the skater's coach admonished as she turned thecorner, "you might drown!"
"Very funny coach...I know," Nancy replied, "I'm just gonna be a few moreminutes."
"OK, but remember they're closing up here soon. And take tomorrow off. Idon't want you practicing with that sore hip," the coach continued.
"Thanks coach," the skater replied.
Kerrigan heard the locker room door close. She was alone now. Just her,the whirlpool, and her thoughts. The silence was quite comforting with allthe attention she was becoming accustomed to handling. Her thoughts driftedfrom here to there to nowhere as she lounged.
"How can I drown in here?" she chuckled to herself, "I can barely fit!"
That much was true. Kerrigan's slender, lengthy frame was not made for thewhirlpool tub. At least not lounging back like she was. But she liked tofeel the cool air on her face and feet while the rest of her soaked. Shedrifted off again.
Less than 45 minutes later she awoke with a start. She must have dozedoff.
Did she hear a noise?
"Is someone there?" she called out.
No answer. Nancy went to remove the cloth from her face. But somethingwas
wrong. She couldn't move her arms. They were stuck! She felt almostparalyzed. Was this a dream or something? What was going on?
"Help! Is someone there?" she cried.
Nancy heard footsteps shuffling. Someone, indeed, was here.
"Please somebody, help me!" she repeated.
Kerrigan felt a presence behind her. The cloth was quickly yanked from herface. She craned her head back to see who had done it. The figure wasdressed all in black with a black ski mask. Nancy shivered. This must be anightmare. What was happening? She turned a quick glance to the tub. Thewater had been replaced by a sticky tan substance. It was almost like glue, but it was more solid. Moving was impossible.
The voice sounded oddly familiar to Nancy, but she couldn't place it.
The stranger paced to the side of the whirlpool eyeing Nancy the wholetime.
The figure looked up and down the locker room. Satisfied that they werealone, the figure put a gloved hand up to its head and pulled the ski maskoff.
Nancy eyes bulged. Before her stood none other than Tonya Harding.
Nancy screamed.
Harding let out a chuckle. "Don't bother you little wench. Nobody's herethey've all gone home," Tonya gloated.
"Now see here..." Kerrigan began as she tried vainly to struggle from herpredicament.
Part Two
"Now see here..." Kerrigan began as she tried vainly to struggle from herpredicament.
"Don't bother struggling either you little wimp," Tonya shot back, "you aresitting up to your precious neck in industrial strength gelatin. They useit
to temporarily hold I-beams when building those pre-fab houses.Just add hot water and presto! It'll hold you and good," she finished.
a few scores to settle with you. You ruined me!," Tonya replied angrily.
"You ruined yourself. You and Gilooly. Don't you remember?," Kerriganretorted.
"Remember. Remember...I seem to remember a little something about you fromthe 1990 World Championships when we were roommates," Tonya cackled as shepaced to the far end of the tub, removed the black gloves, and rested herhands on the edge of the whirlpool. All the time she was eyeing Nancy'sslender size nines.
"Oh no! You wouldn't. Please, I can't move!" Kerrigan pleaded. Herthoughts raced. Tonya had discovered Nancy's extremely ticklish feet whenshe once wrapped her ankle during the 1990 Worlds. Nancy was all butcertain
she intended to exploit this weakness now.
"Please, Tonya, don't tickle...I'll do anything," the silver medalistbegged.
"That's right you will. But first, let's have some fun," Hardingreplied. With that Tonya took a single index finger and drew it alongNancy's right sole from heel to toe.
"No...hee hee...please," Nancy offered trying to hold back the laughter.
Harding used her other index finger and together drew them both in longheel-to-toe strokes across Nancy's vulnerable arches.
Nancy felt her world begin to spin. She could not move that was forsure. And her feet were so so ticklish. Not even Tonya knew the trueextent. She was in serious trouble, but at this point there seemed to be noway out. She vowed to fight Tonya's tickling advances to her last breath. At that moment Tonya began to gently rake all four fingers from each handalong Nancy's tender twitching soles.
"Mmmmm..hee...mmmm..ha ha," Nancy fought back her giggles. Her feetsquirmed and wiggled, her legs immobile in the gelatinous trap.
"Well well, playing hard to get are we?" Tonya chided.
Tonya increased the pressure while slowing the movements of her fingers, dragging back and forth paying close attention to Nancy's high arches.
"Ha ha ha...mmm...no....hee hee," Nancy was trying but the giggles wereinvoluntarily pushing their way through.
"That's better. Let's try some compulsories," Harding responded.
With that Tonya began to trace figure eights on each of Nancy's soles.Starting at the top winding down to the heel then up around the base of thetoes.
"HA HA HA HA...hee hee...no...heee hee hee HA haha...please...ittickles," Nancy laughed. The dam had broken. It had not taken long, but inher weakened state and with her ultra-sensitive feet she could not hold itin.
"Cootchy kitchy coo," Harding taunted, pulling up a stool and gettingcomfortable. A black backpack was on the floor next to her. She tracedmore
figure eights.
"HA HA HA...no more...heehee heee hee...Tonya....please...HA HA HA,"Kerrigan muttered feebly.
"Oh there's more, don't you worry, my dear," Tonya replied. Hardingzipped open the backpack and withdrew a long stiff eagle feather. She heldit up for Nancy's view.
"Hee hee...What are you...hee hee...going to do with that?" Nancymanaged.
Part Three
"Hee hee...What are you...hee hee...going to do with that?" Nancy managed.
"I'm gonna play a little tune on your toes with it...like this," Hardingreplied and ran the feather from big to little toe right at the base ofNancy's right foot.
"Ack....no...HA HA HAHA....not...hee hee...not my toes...HAHAHAHAHA...please...no toes..Tonya...hee hee hee hee....HA HA HA," Kerriganpleaded.
"Kitchy kitchy," Harding laughed as she ran the stiff feather all alongthe base of Kerrigan's tender toes....back and forth. Nancy flailed herfeet but to no avail. Tonya worked the feather over the toes and the ballof
Kerrigan's feet like an expert.
"HA HA HA HA...oh no...HA HA HA HA...hee hee heee...please....HA HAHAHA..ooo...HA HAHAHA," Nancy guffawed.
"What if I drag this nice feather between each and every little toe?Nice and slow like this," Tonya jeered.
"HA HA HA HA...oh no...not that..HA HA HA HA...hee heeheee...please....HA HA HAHA..stop...ooo...HA HAHAHA," Nancy shut her eyes tothe spectacle as tears began streaming down her face.
"Tickle tickle tickle..." Tonya teased as she slowly drew the featherbetween each of Nancy's toes. Tonya smiled in delight at Nancy's begginglaughter and reached down into the backpack.
"Ppp...hee heeehee....please.....stop....HA HA HAHA stop...stop...HA HAHAHA
HA HA HA," Kerrigan howled.
"Let's not ignore those nice soles, Nancy," Tonya said, feigning concern,as she extracted a new weapon from her backpack. A brand spanking newtoothbrush.
Nancy nearly hit the ceiling when she felt the cool bristles hit her leftsole. Tonya was working the toes of her left foot with the feather andattacking her sole with the toothbrush.
"Noooooooooooooooooo!....HA HA HA HA HAHA....hee hee hee...oh...oh no....HAHAHA HA...hee hee hee....oh god....please....HA HA HA HA," Kerrigan was nearhysterics.
Tonya switched to the right foot. Sliding the feather along Nancy's toesand brushing the sole and the outside edge.
"HA HA HA HA...oh please stop...hee hee heee....stttttoppp...hee ehheee...HA HA HA HA...hee heee...no.....more...HA HA HA HA," Nancy ranted.
Tonya left Nancy's twitching soles for a moment and reached into her bag.
She extracted a can of Diet Pepsi, a packet of white powder, a plastic cup,a straw, and her make-up kit.
Nancy was still giggling when Tonya resumed her tickling assault.Brushing a little harder this time, right along the base of Nancy's toes.
"Ahhh HAHA HA...no....hee he heee hee hee....HA H HA HA HA..not..mytoes...hee heee heee...please...HA HA HA HA HA..hee hee oh...HA HAHA,"Kerrigan babbled.
Tonya turned up the heat. She used the toothbrush to tickle Nancy's toesand her manicured nails to rake her soles. Try as she might to move andwiggle her feet away from the tormentor, there would be no escape.
"HA HA HA...oh god no....please......HA HA HA HA HA...it tickles somuch....hee hee heee...no more....hee hee...no more...HA HA," Nancy begged.
Tonya again momentarily left Nancy in the throes of giggles. She openedthe
Diet Pepsi and took a quick sip. Tickle torture was hard work. She openedthe packet of white powder and put it in the plastic cup. She poured in ahelping of the soda and stirred the cup with the straw. She placed the cupon the floor.
"Hee hee...mmmm...hee hee," Nancy continued giggling uncontrollably.
Tonya continued the toothbrush and finger attack alternating soles so herfeeble victim could not get used to any steady rhythm.
"HA HA HA...no....hee hee hee...oh...HA HA HA HA...mmm...hee heee....nomore.....HA HA HAHA...please please please Tonya...stop," Nancy implored.
Harding had turned a deaf ear. She found herself strangely excited at thisability to turn the U.S. Champion and America's Olympic sweetheart into aquivering, blabbering, mass of giggles. If only she had thought of thissooner!
Part Four
Harding had turned a deaf ear. She found herself strangely excited atthis ability to turn the U.S. Champion and America's Olympic sweetheart intoa quivering, blabbering, mass of giggles. If only she had thought of thissooner!
"Cootchy kitchy cootchy coo!," Tonya repeated. She had gone back to usingthe feather on Nancy's sensitive soles and continued to swirl the toothbrushalong her arches.
"HA HA HA...no....hee hee hee...oh..Tonya...anything....I'll doanything....HA HA HA HA...mmm...hee heee....no more.....HA HA HAHA...pleaseTonya...stop...HA HAHA...hee hee hee...I'll do anything...hee hee hee,"Nancy
moaned.
This snapped Tonya out of her trance.
"Now that's just what I wanted to hear," she remarked. "You'll doanything?" Her fingers rasped Nancy's twitching soles quicklyand efficiently.
"YES...YES...HA HA HA...anything..hee hee hee...nnname it....hee heehee...oh...HA HA HA HA...mmm...hee heee..just.no more.....HA HAHAHA..tickling..hee hee.please Tonya," Nancy spouted.
Tonya paused the tickling torment. "Now then, all I ask is that youdrink this glass of soda. Then I'll get you out of the whirlpool,"Harding offered.
"Hee hee....wait...HA HAHA...what's in it?..mmm..hee," Kerrigan queried. Her last remaining piece of sanity was fast retreating. But during themomentary tickling pause, Nancy thought to herself, "Was it poison, drugs?"
As she was thinking a new sensation gripped Nancy's tortured peds. Tonyahad removed her make up brush and set to work on Nancy's toes again. Thebrush was soft and fluffy as it ran along her toes. Kerrigan was crashingand burning.
"HA HA HA.....hee hee hee...no toes!...hee hee hee...OK...HA HA HAHA...mmm...hee heee..just.no more toes!.....HA HA HAHA...hee hee.please,"Nancy gushed.
"Are you going to take your medicine like a big girl?" Tonya askedcondescendingly, tickling Kerrigan's poor tortured soles all the while.
"Yes...yes...HA HA HA...anything..hee hee hee...I'll drink it....hee heehee...only...HA HA HA HA..stop .mmm...hee heee..just.no more.....HA HAHAHA..tickling..hee hee.please please," Nancy urged.
"That's more like it," Tonya added, "now here just drink this down. Itwill make you feel good. And don't try spitting it out or I'll never stoptickling you!" she warned.
Nancy was still laughing. She could barely breathe and was on the vergeofpassing out, yet she took Harding's warning at face value. Nancy knew shecould not endure much more. She must drink it. Even if it was poison atleast the tickling would stop. She tried to compose herself.
"Mmmm...hee hee...ok...mmm...ha ha ha...let's have it," Nancy replied.Tonya stopped tickling long enough to offer Nancy the cup and straw. Thestraw found Nancy's mouth. She took a deep breath, then sucked in.
The two adversaries eyed each other. For a split second Nancy thought sheshould spit it right back in the Oregon punk's face. Nancy puckered herlips.
As she did Tonya took her mascara brush and began pulling it through thetoes on Nancy's right foot, wiggling it round and round.
Nancy gasped with surprise and choked the mouthful of soda down. Neverbefore had she felt such a sensation on her ticklish feet. It was nearlytoo
much to bear. As her mind and body rocked, the room began to spin.Tonya's tickling with the mascara brush continued. Nancy was swooning. Herhead was heavy and she thought she might faint. As she slipped intounconsciousness, succumbing to the drugged soda, she heard muffled voices.
"That's it....she's out!" Tonya cried.
