NBA free agency July 1, 2010

Man, you really don't get it do you? Like people have been saying, it is the way he did it. He left Cleveland like a bitch. He should have manned up and told the people of Cleveland right after the playoffs he is gone. Why have these people have parades, "King James Day", lining up in the streets with signs, have the Governor of the State in a music video, petitions, rallies, etc, only to straight bail on them? He never intended to stay. That's why people are pissed. He couldn't be man enough to tell the people who adored him since high school he was going to leave. Why do you think people are heavily criticizing him and not the other free agents? Think for once....

Lebron is nothing but a ring chaser. The Cavs were one of the best teams in the NBA. In fact, I remember YOU saying this was Lebron's year. Now all of the sudden, he pulls a no-show in the playoffs, and it's his teammates fault? You're saying all hail as though this guy is still the "King". Lebron is no king. This heartless bitch is going to be a role player. Dwayne Wade is the King in Miami. Now Lebron can bow down to someone who actually got it done before.

I'm not absolving LeBron of his play and I know they could've won a championship with the team they had, but it still doesn't mean that LeBron didn't carry that entire team. He had an off night and no one else could pick up an ounce of slack.

How do you know LeBron always intended to leave Cleveland. Please explain that one.

What's wrong with chasing a championship? Isn't that the point of playing any sport? Isn't that why they're paid so well?

Didn't Wade get it done with Shaq? Who did Cleveland have in 2009-2010 that was of Shaq's caliber in 2006-2007?

Didn't the Miami Heat present him with the best chance to win the NBA Finals of all the teams that were after him?

Find out the answers to these questions and more in Primetime's next post.

How do I know he always intended to leave? Man, think about it. Wade, Bosh and Lebron are buddies correct? You heard them talking about free agency before the season, and playing with each other. The only thing they could have been thinking of was where they would play together. The simple fact that he wouldn't tell the folks of Cleveland that he was leaning their way is another indication. He just said "They have a chance...". Not exactly reassuring...If he truly cared about the City of Cleveland, he would have never done that stupid special to rip their hearts out. He KNOWS how much Cleveland wanted him. But he left them in the most embarrassing way....

Players chase championships, but how often do you see the "leader" of the #1 seed in basketball LEAVE, claiming "I want to win a championship." Well dammit, your team was the #1 seed. I would think that would make them title contenders. How often do you see people LEAVING a top contending, winning team to go somewhere else for a ring. The only time they do, is they want a bigger contract.

Wade DID NOT GET IT DONE WITH SHAQ. He got it done essentially by himself. He dominated Dallas. It was Alonzo Mourning who played a bigger role than Shaq. Shaq was on the bench for most of that series. Shaq was just as good as DJ Mbenga was for the Lakers during the NBA Finals. Whenever crunch time came up, Shaq was waving a towel.

Who did Cleveland have of Shaq's caliber in his Miami's title year last year? Um, Shaq. People really think Shaq made the difference that year. He DIDN'T. Alonzo Mourning and James Posey made the difference, not Shaq. Get your history correct. Again, people, including YOU, was saying how Lebron has a solid supporting cast and this was Lebron's year.

Um, NO. Miami did not present the best chance to win. The Chicago Bulls presented the best opportunity with Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah. In fact, I would rather have Noah than Bosh. Noah is a "banger" in the paint. I thought Wade was headed there. Chicago was the better destination, not Miami. They still need to fill out a roster...

Bottom line is Lebron is a heartless coward who can't get the job done. I laugh at Bosh/Wade/James when they talk about their success on the 08 Olympic team. Um, pardon me, didn't those same guys play on the 04 team that failed to get the job done? Notice when Kobe joined the team and showed those guys how to work, did they win. Plus, Carmelo Anthony was the driving force on offense, not them.

I think this Miami decision was more of Lebron's "clique" wanting to party in South Beach than Cleveland. Granted South Beach is a lot more fun than Cleveland, but it was still callous on how Lebron treated the area from which he came from. Lebron just wrecked his legacy. He will never be considered one of the all time greats because he just proven he can't lead a team to a title. Miami is Dwyane Wade's team. Wade has built his legacy there. Had all three went to New York, then maybe Lebron could salvage his legacy, but he went the bitch route and hopes Wade can bail him out of pressure situations. He didn't have a bad game against Boston, he disappeared. Big difference.

Learn your history and pay attention to details.

What the Lebron supporters don't realize that this isn't your normal free agency signing.

I am not a Lebron supporter, but I am not a 'hater' either.

Do I think Lebron made a good decision: Absolutely yes. He was not going to win a title in Cleveland with the cast he had (barring some miracle transaction or an unsurpassed leap in ability from James) and Miami is a virtual lock to at least reach one finals.

Do I think he made the BEST decision: No, going to Chi-town or NY would have been better decisions.

Do I think he made the RIGHT decision: No, he should have stayed in Cleveland.

Furthermore, Lebron playing second fiddle to Wade won't 'hurt his legacy' if he wins a slew of titles no more than Kobe winning 3 titles with Shaq hurt his.

Also, nobody thinks lesser of the 80's Celtics and Lakers and they were 'stacked' more than any teams in the history of the NBA.

Lebron is a chump for leaving, but if he wins titles he wins titles.

And NOBODY will EVER be as good as and especially better than MJ.

I live in D.C. and I know LeBron as well as you or any other Cleveland resident does. Unless you're a part of King James' entourage, you know as much about him as everyone else does. LeBron is the biggest thing in the NBA. Every move he makes is talked about nationally. What is there being said in Cleveland that won't make news on ESPN or USA Today?

So you think LeBron isn't as likeable as we've seen on TV? Is he Dr. Evil?

What exactly about his departure don't you like? The fact that he did it on TV? Do you think there would be less outrage had he not done it so publicly? He made millions of dollars for charities by doing it on TV. Is it because the owner catered to his greatness? I don't care if the MF'er bought LeBron Pluto, it still doesn't give him the right to have these expectations of LeBron when he made it clear before that he would listen to the offers of other teams.

You're wrong if you think that LeBron had this planned all along. When Wade returned to Miami with Chris Bosh and Amare signed with New York it made his decision a lot more complicated. He was forced to choose his desire to win over his love for Ohio. The fear of never winning is a powerful bitch.

Let me ask you oh clueless one, could he have given money to charity WITHOUT doing the TV show? Instead he chose to slap Cleveland, who would have erected statues for him, in the face. He spit at them and he sh*t in their faces publically.

He took Miami because it is now a stacked team. Basically, he admitted to everyone that he doesn't have the talent or the maturity to lead a team to a Championship. He told the world he is NOT the man.

As far as in the other post where you ask how do we know he intended to leave? Well we can't be 100% certain. But we had heard from LOTS of people that he quit in the playoffs on his team. Now if that is the scenerio, that tells you all you need to know. Had he won in Cleveland, there is NO WAY he leaves. So his quitting on the team told everyone he wasn't returning.

Let me ask you something. What kind of man does not answer his phone or text messages during negotiations? I will tell you...the guy who had no intentions of returning.

I am not sure of your infatuation is with the guy. But to say you know the same about LeBron James as they do in Cleveland. Since they COVERED evrything from soup to nuts about LeBron BEFORE he hit the NBA it is IMPOSSIBLE that Washington covered all of that. So to say you know as much as those who have followed him in Ohio is completely arrogent on your part.
