I'm hoping someone here may have an answer for me. I'm interested in shooting a series of videos (non-tickling... sorry) and broadcasting them online. I've heard there are services (some free, some paid) where you can upload your videos and have them widely distributed and even promoted.

Does anyone here have experience with such services? I'd welcome any reviews.

i'd suggest going to a webmaster forum, (webmaster world?), joining, and asking those guys that question in the relevant forum.
