I need to know all the information I can get and need about itching powder Not where I can get it, but what actually happens, how does it feel, effects.
Most of all I am wondering if left on longer enough, that the itching turns into tickling? Please info is need 🙂

Be careful hon, this comes up all the time. I'd do a search on it for all the threads~on some lees the results can be fatal...

Your standard itching powder works as an irritant...which doesn't lend itself too well to a fun tickling session. Many people have come up with this idea, but take it from me, the experience is not what you think it will be.

The itching powder that's out today is mainly fiberglass. So, there's no way it would tickle...just itch like hell and cause skin irritation. There used to be a kind out that was made by powdering a certain kind of pepper to act as the irritant. (I don't recall what pepper was used.) It itched to start but burned a bit if left on too long. I've never seen itching powder used straight that ever led to a tickling sensation.

What kind of skin irritation, a rash for a couple days or a scar?
What do you mean by burning?

😕 😕 😕 😕 😕

Yes, she means glass.

"What will happen?"
IMHO, you can probably count on losing a friend...

This is heresay, so I cant vouch for its validity, but I heard once of a fraternity prank at my college where some frat brothers put itching powder into people's laundry, underwear, and sheets, and the next day the inflicted people had severe rash on their inner thighs and legs, and had to get a calamine lotion of sorts to deal with the rash. Again, I dont know if itching powder is dangerous unless ingested or put near the eyes, but it can make someone mighty uncomfortable, and cause a major rash. This is only what I've heard. Thankfully I've never experienced it first hand, so I cant vouch for it from personal experience.

I can speak from experience

Itching powder is not something to play with unless you are VERY experienced with it and are ready to handle a problem immediately.

There are two main kinds. The current day itching powder IS small pieces of fiberglass. They will get embedded into the skin causing rashes and a long term very uncomfortable situation that feels like hundreds of tiny pin pricks. Definitely not fun.

The other kind is a combination of different ingredients that will burn and cause the skin to react to it with sometimes severe itching. If it is used on only dry skin there is usually very little after affects other than the discomfort from itching... HOWEVER....

I was in a Hog-Tie once. After a long time of ticking, causing a person to get hot and sweaty, the guy decided to use the itching powder. The guy put it on my feet which were bent back at the knees so some of the powder fell down in between my thighs. Suddenly I had a horrid chemical burning going on when the powder reacted with the perspiration. The guy cut me lose and I got into the shower quickly. Even slightly warm water caused the burning to get even worse. The cold water eased the burning but I was left with what felt like the after affects of a bad burn. I used soap to wash it off which helped alot but let me just say...

DON'T TRY IT!

It's not fun and was very painful.

Yep....glass. If you've ever used fiberglass ceiling tiles or insulation bare handed, you'll know how it feels. Not pleasant at all. Skin irritation can be limitted to a slight rash if the exposure is short term. But, there are people who are very sensitive to it and have much worse reactions. It also poses a very real hazzard if inhaled or gotten into the eyes. As I said before, it's not recommended.

By burning, I mean just that. If you've ever used artheritis rubs, many of them use the same types of pepper that are used in the older style of itching powder. Ceyene pepper is actually good for you in many ways. However, extended contact with skin when used undiluted (as is the case with the itching powder concoctions) will casue a much more extreme warmth that eventually feels like a burn. If left on the skin too long, it can actually cause blistering. Again...not recommended.

The long and the short of it is, the way it's been used in many stories bears very little resemblance to the reality of it. People get an idea to use it for tickling when, in fact, it doesn't tickle. It just drives them nuts with the itching...hardly worth the potential risks.

Well lets just say that the idea, to drive them nuts with itching, I hear some people say that all you need is the right kind/brand of itching powder.
