Need help from other memebrs, please

* is shy*. Ok this is going to sound dumb and pathetic but i've run out of options and I actually trust the people on this board. Anyone ever been on IMDB? Its a movie forum. I'm having trouble with a girl on the Phantom of the opera ( 2004) boards. She and I used to chat a lot then broke it off because she was treating me like s**t. Well she kept trashing my name on the Phantom boards during the time we talked and after. I asked her to stop. SHe won't now everyone is bent up on trying to get me kicked off of the site. ALL I want to do is to post on any movie EXCEPT Phantom but I can't do that if these people keep getting me kicked off. Plus If I'm not on the Phantom boards I don't think its nice to keep bashing me for no reason. Anyway, thats all I want. I've been stressed about this like crazy and had two major panic attacks last weekend. I reported the girl to the moderators several times and they have done nothing. ANy suggestions? All I want is to post on the forum... not on the phantom boards though.. and live my life like this girl doesn't exist.

Now IMDB after a bit of researching is the Internet Movie Database and after looking through it I see that the stars with the most traffic on their "message entries" are ones like Hilary Duff, Linsday Lohan, Jesse McCartney and other teen idols. Those teen idols have teen followers and those are the ones who post...everyone knows teens are among the cruelest of people Sam. Or at least at that age they are. The only thing you can do is take what they write with a grain of salt or if it bothers you that much simply stop posting on the IMDB. The internet and message boards are for pleasure not for you to be distressed about! There are plenty of serious things in life to be serious about but a teen or preteen board aint one of 'em so relax! Here's an amigo hug 4 ya! Hope this helps! 😛

Execellant advice from Edward,man.If you have reported this to the moderators and they can't or won't do anything,there is really nothing anyone can do about it.There must be other similar boards out there,i dont know a thing about them other then what Edward already said.Life is to short to get so worked up about something like that.Try to chill out and move on with your life,it just ain't worth it.

My advice is to forget the moderators. Sounds like they are already against you anyway. You need to get creative and you need to get aggressive and start going after the people who are trashing you. Or you can just say screw 'em and move on. 🙂

It's an internet forum. Granted it's the biggest one of its kind, but I'm sure there are other sites you can join.

Actually I have to disagree there. I've had MANY panic attacks dealing with some of the jackasses we get on this forum when I am trying to moderate. If your buttons are pushed, they're pushed...it doesn't matter what medium it stemmed from. Granted some people are more sensitive than others (like sam and I, for instance), but I don't believe anyone is pathetic for it.

I know sometimes it can be stressful if you use the forum as a way to have fun and meet others, but like any forum--not everyone is going to be civil because its easy to hide behind a screen.

As long as you have the option of turning off your computer, it hasn't destroyed you life. Maybe your internet life but eventually it will be forgotten in time. One thing about forums is drama may last a couple of weeks the most but then people get tired of it.

Not that there aren't *adult schmucks to be found everywhere 🙄 as some simply never grow up or evolve beyond petty junior high sadisms.... There's always some paltry idiot who'll need to step on you to elevate her/him self... and make an @ss of her/himself in the process.

Adults with halfway worthwhile opinions will recognize that.
Obviously that doesn't include that teeny-bopper mod squad you're dealing with...

No loss there, especially since you're beyond the pre-teen mentality, which the little brat who's getting her kicks bugging you apparently isn't. As E.E. said (paraphrasing...) don't let the little warts kick you once you've stumbled over their trip wire.

If a message board is causing you that much grief than simply leave it. I used to go to the AOL NFL chat room and although they talked about football a bit they were sadistic monsters who insulted a person, posted their profile (which a person should never have) and emailed me violent and filthy emails about people in my life whom I loved. I simply deleted that screen name and never went back. Message boards, Myspace, chat rooms are meant for fun and learning not for bickering or flaming...if that is happening report it and if nothing gets done than leave. All in all it's just words on a screen and if that's really that important to you than you need to work on yourself. The mods here do a great job of seeing that people who follow the rules are protected by deleting flaming and posts that break the rules and see that the person is told not to do so again but not all boards are so well run as here so keep that in mind.

actually i've done the defend myself thing.. didn't try to insult her per say but to warn everyone there what she is really like.. well they've been brainwashed with her jibberish too much to the point they won't listen to anything I say just to what she has said and it is their opinion that i'm crazy and should be institutionalized.

there are adult losers on that board also, its not just the teens that are doing this... thats a scary fact. thats why i like this board though.. most everyone ( i say most everyone because i don't know everyone *Shy* ) is 100% more mature and will listen to people if they need to vent or need help. = )
