Need Ideas/Inspiration

I really really want to write a story for this section but i can't decide what material to use, so i need a video game/manga/anime that you want to read about, so i can get writing right away. If i don't know much about the topic you suggest, i probably wont write about it because i don't want to dissappoint, but don't let that stop you from posting! Hope to hear from you all soon.

Here's a radical suggestion: Why don't you write a story with an original setting and set of characters? With characters and a setting that you make up entirely out of your own head?

Your stories don't have to be based on a pre-existing video game/magna/anime. Throw off your chains!

Write for the enjoyment of it. You need to have fun doing it. Don't be preoccupied what others may think. Just do it.

Sable is correct that creating your own little universe can be a cool thing unto itself. Just create a setting and use characters that you feel would be inviting for the audience to enjoy. Look around your everyday life for archetypes of people you would like to see tickled. Don't use the actual person, that's creepy. Just get the idea and description.

If you take an existing "universe" you need to really understand it to make it work right. An existing title is going to come with baggage, some people won't read it out of a pre-existing bias against it. On the other hand you will have familiar easily recognizable characters to work with so its a crapshoot.

If you've already decided that for starters you want to go with something more familiar personally I enjoy Love Hina. There's a ton of good scenarios waiting to be explored in that manga/anime. It should be easily located if you're not familiar with the story. Another idea, World of Warcraft, a WoW tickling story would be cool too.

Why don't you tells us in what kind of a world do you want story to be happening.
Maybe in medieval story about damsel in distress, a thief after kings treasure, a recently new beggar...
Maybe futuristic story about war between machines and human, perhaps new kind of favorite alien...
There is also a altered history story where perhaps Hitler never lost the war, or perhaps Indians, or something like that...
You can also twist some real life news and make a story from that.
As a writer and a manga-ka i know how hard it is to make your own world (trust me I took me 2 years to make my manga world), but after you decide, everything is easy... you just let your characters talk.

If ya wanna make one form a video game/anime/manga, I'd say to go with either Naruto or Bleach, both popular, defined and with nice looking girls :super_hap

hey bashiku, any tips on creating manga would be greatly appreciated now that you mention it. I've tried starting a few of my own but i can never get past the first few pages. As for the rest, i guess i'll try my own original story.

Well I first started with excel file, making many notes and character statistic.
This includes character biography, skills, aspiration, and so on.
Excel file can also hold shorter version of your story, or you can plan your chapters in it.
After that I practice few characters (I made around 30 and drew around 20 in different poses, so that's around 40 pictures).
Then after that you can start with first page. In first chapter you should (i didn't unfortunately) introduce only few essential characters.
One more thing. Always leave some room for a mystery (betrayal, new type of villain, twist in the story and similar).
Well that is as much I can tell you for now. If you want more advices just ask.
