NEST info for First-Timers

If it wasn't for the fact that I live in Nevada, this might seem a little bit more platable for me. However, I could always tell my family and work that I'm visiting Philly to see where they filmed Rocky Balboa and run the steps in Stallone's footsteps. Yea, They'll buy that...

This year NEST will be $50 for singles, and $80 per couple, providing they
register at the same time. It's also been expanded from a Sunday afternoon
event to a Friday-Sunday event.

the hollywood brother think that everyone who is coming form all over the world to go to nest in philadelphia should wear phillies red on there clothes and run the art muesum steps. many people come to philadelphia for the tickling but by wearing red you can also show support for the phillies and the legend himself the phillie phanatic. also to run the steps and then see the rocky statue is a treat that you will never ever forget.

They're probably sick to tears of tourists doing that "Rocky" run there on the Art Museum steps, but on the slight-to-nil chance I do somehow manage to attend, I'd HAVE to do the run, to pay homage to the Rocky Statue, at least. In red, if necessary. 🙂

Maybe this is posted in the rules I've not read...

I've never seen a picture or vidclip - or any other trace that NEST exists. Is that prohibited to protect people's anonymity? For something so awesome, I've only ever read comments about how awesome it is. I would've thought someone would have at least one picture if it's allowed.

There are a scant few pictures taken at NEST and yes, they are to protect anonymity. If you take a picture at NEST, you have to make sure all those in the vacinity approve of pictures being taken of them. If you dig a little through the TMF pic posts of last June, you should find a few. 🙂

NEST for Newbies!

We have quite a few new faces wanting to join us at this year's NEST. So, I thought I'd pop this up here to help you along a bit.

All attendees MUST be cleared before coming to NEST. We take the safety of our guests very seriously. So, we simply want to know a bit about people before welcoming them into this private party.

If you are interested in attending and have not yet done so, just go to the NEST web site and follow the registration links.

We'll be asking for more information as we go along in order to get to know you a bit before clearing you. You're perfectly free to ask us any questions you may have as well. In fact, we want you to ask questions.

If you are cleared to join us, we'll send you an e-mail with further information and links to the final registration and payment process.

As you may have seen mentioned in other spots, we'll also be having some chats to give new folks a chance to get to know one another a bit before coming. We highly recommend that you take part in at least some of these. It will help you to feel more at ease instead of walking into a room full of total strangers.

We'll also be having a bit of an orientation session on Saturday before the regular social. We encourage you to plan to join us for that if at all possible. It will give us a chance to meet one another and introduce you around a bit.

The whole orientation thing is a great idea. I went in cold last year and orientation for new-comers is without a doubt a brilliant idea. Here's hoping to see all you wonderful people there!
