My younger brother , a liberals liberal was reading Shining Ice's posts one day and he said..

I'm an American Unilateralist and any president who is willing to strike back, OR take a preemptive strike in our interests is ok with me. SO long as those strikes are in the interest of national security.
I also know any economic problems actually started in the previous administration, because that's the way an economy works. Todays problems started with Clinton, not Bush.

You'd do ok with my father. Just as red indian would. You guys at least have intelligent arguments to prove your points. there is nothing wrong with looking at the same data, or events and coming up with a differing conclusion. It all depends on how or what you're looking for in the data. I can accept that, and it does lead to a lively debate. You guys would do ok with him.

Okay mush, so that's "card-carrying" out the window. I do tend to think that your Regans and Bushes incline more towards your philosophies than your Bill "I'm anyone's after half a pint of cider" Clintons and your Al "The Walking Mogadon" Gores. When was the last time you had a Democrat Pres or candidate who fulfilled the criteria of being proactive? Off the top of my head I'm thinking maybe Jack Kennedy, but I come up short after that. Democrats tend to come accross as the female perspective of politics, with Reps being the male. All do the same thing in different overt ways really.

Let's leave it at that and not resort to name calling.

I have found over the last 2 years that I have agreed and disagreed with just about everyone I have come in contact with. Makes from some pretty good discussions and is a lesson in learning for all of us.

It is also surprising to me that upon meeting people outside the forum that I thought I might have a problem with , that it didnt go that way at all. I have met many who I have disagreed with on line that were really great folks once I got to met them face to face.

Keep in mind that what we put in posts is only a small part of our
persona and should be taken for what it is worth.

Venray, you make an interesting point here. You said you met some people in person who you thought you wouldn't like because of the way their posts struck you (I'm paraphrasing). This is something I touched on somewhere around here, although it fell on deaf ears.

There's a lot of regulars here who are male, and some that are female. Certain people seem to click at least on this forum. In short, I wonder who would actually click if they met in person. I bet there would be some surprises.

Anyway, it doesn't matter. For the most part, we'll never know.
