New bands and Music thread

music thread...cause i love music!

new groups out recently..or to my knowledge just dropped albums..

altered bridge: has the guitarist from Creed..Creed broke up! YAY! no, actually i like Creed, it was their lead singer who was a B*tch.

Franz Ferdinand: another awesome group ive heard, a few months ago actually,

Modest Mouse: they can rock it, they kick some serious ass.

Yung Won: a low pro rapper who i beleive is with Ruff Ryders and DMX. has an anthem out already, which is pretty good, just how X started his Career.

the Ataris: highly over looked band, who has several records out. so long astoria being one of the best, was released last year, had the summer anthem hit "boys of summer" (originally done by don henley,) these guys did a great job on it.

Jets Cd is great..i like the band too who has the song..45. i like that song alot. Modest mouse kicks some ass too, coheed and cambria sound funny..but they are good too. I love the Yellowcard Cd too. Only One was my fave song until they played it on the radio!

Yes! Shinedown! and Float on is such an awesome song! i crank em up at work..then get yelled at..which in return i tell them i cant hear them and keep playin it!

I listen to the rock stations at work..cause most of them are rap fans..and i like rap..but i like pissin em off when they cant listen to it

I work in a computer lab, so I can actually tell people to turn it down! 😛 But I like everything now (thanks to variety in people), so it really does't bug me anymore, cause nothing can be worse than Kidz Bop!

lmfao! that kidz bop shit is terrible..i wouldnt let my kid listen it..if i had a kid. im incharge of recieving, which is away from the sales floor, so i can as joe buddens put it...PUMP, PUMP, PUMP IT UP! lol no one can really tell me what to do, which is nice. i am my own boss..i love that fact. i like everything too. i just like gettin them guys going who like rap and nothin else. thanks for replying to the thread stacy.

close steph..its spelled..KanYe West..just needed to capitalize the "Y" maroon 5 is good..so is switchfoot..another group..breaking benjamins..and my favorite punk rock band..DropKick Murphys! Oi Oi Oi!! the best band to drink too right there! straight outta boston with irish punk rock music..that is just complete craziness!

im not sure of his descent..i knew when i heard "through the wire" that he was talented. now hes got, all falls down, jesus walks, slow jamz, and ive also heard, breathe in, breathe out and family business played on air from him.

I just got the Shinedown cd...its an awesome cd! i love it. enhanced too..has the video of "45"..also, has their new song "Fly from the Inside"! very awesome cd! i recommend it to everyone who likes rock!

I'm kinda picky about new music, as so much has changed since the tunes I grew up with. The bad thing about Nirvana was that they ushered in the age of garage-band talent. The entire '90's gave us a million kids who could manage four chords, but were "deep" enough to get recording contracts. Talent flew out the window and, for some reason, guitarists stopped doing solos...most likely because they can't solo, but that's another thread.

Anyhooo...

Some of the new bands I do like:

The Ataris
The Darkness
Default
Nickelback (to a point)
Evanesence
Jet


The Darkness really got me turned on to something different, which I like. Too many bands are still trying to cash in on the theme of the day, and The Darkness just did thier thing.

The DARKNESS!! hell yeah! they have one of the best songs ive heard lately. and the video..although somewhat strange with a purple gorilla is hilarious!!

Ron Sexsmith

There's a Canadian singer named Ron Sexsmith whose music may not suit alot of rocker types but if you like singer/songwriter types, he may be just what you're looking for. I heard his "Retriever" CD and fell in love with it. Give it a try when you want to mellow out a bit. "I Know It Well" is almost right up there with Paul McCartney's best. He's been around for awhile but he's new to me.

hmm..never heard of him.. i know simple plan and finger 11 are both from canada..as is avril(in a way, shes cute!) modest mouse though..i love that song they have out. love the beat to it.

Godsmack..going off subject..i absolutely love Godsmacks music..my favorite..BAD RELIGION..i love the way it starts out with the quitar and drums..that song pumps me up!! i race to that song..its so awesome!
