New bondage club at my college.

There is this new club called Cuffs at my school and they are a bondage club/BDSM. There have been articles in our school, city, state newspaper. It was also fetured on some msnbc show. There are some people who don't care that it exists, but there are SO many people against it. All of their fliers get torn down, and some people are just really angry about this club. There was an article today that said that there are 25 members, and they actually showed a picture in my city paper of a guy with leather cuffs on being spanked! They are all interested in "alternative" sexual expression, so I wonder if a ticklephille or two are among the atendees. Maybe I should go some day and find out.....

Geeze Louise! I should have paid more attention to the social side of school. (I had a full-time job at the same time I was a full-time student.) Makes me wonder what I missed!

In Iowa? Where my dad is from and my uncle still teaches? Ewwww! Even though I have my kinks I'm not sure I'd be ready for something like this just being out there in public. What happend to sublety, secret handshakes, special knock, "Walt sent me...." , that kind of thing? I can only imagine what being a straight-laced, chip-on-the-shoulder-attitued Iowan would feel...


That being said, that's not a JUDGEMENT against the club. I wish one exsisted when I went to college. It's a very cool idea, in fact. But dang, does everything need to be "in your face" today? It's kind of fun, sometimes, having a secret!

Anyway, do indeed check out the club. Report back. But be forewarned, you're going to meet a lot of guys there who just wanna be spanked. And they are gonna be despearte. I've seen it.

One important thing with clubs, though, is advertising / recruitment. A club generally likes to recruit more members, and to do so, it must advertise itself somehow.

I'd go to the club. Maybe you can meet someone open to the idea of tickling. If not, just don't show up to the meetings anymore. (unless you like other BDSM related activities, then by all means keep going)

But it is always so much easier to go to a gathering. At least you can lie and say it's something else. Like at GLAT, some people called it Great Lakes Area Technologies, etc. but when they advertise the time and place of a BDSM meeting, everyone knows youre there for that meeting. All kidding aside, there are lots of organizations out there for BDSM-- and, although they are not necessarily swingers/referral organizations, they provide excellent information and resources for people who are involved in the BDSM lifestyle. I'm not talking about just techniques to use in play, but also safety and legal issues that I have never heard discussed here or anyone else.
