There is a new playspace opening up in Northern California (Santa Clara) called "Edges." I only found out about it recently (Thanks Aquafeline!) and volunteered this weekend to help put it all together.
Currently there is 5,500 square feet of space and they will in a few months have the building up front and expand out to 9,500 square feet. They will be renting out space for munches and private play parties. At some point we will have to have a gathering there, there is just TOO much cool stuff to pass up 🙂 I think we should bring our feathers and toy there once its up and running.
The people running it seem very nice (in the time I've been around them) so I have high hopes for the place. It is an industrial park near (but not next to) a residential area so it is a VERY safe place. I lived (when I first moved to Santa Clara) only 2 1/2 blocks from where they are set up and I didn't have any problem with the neighborhood.
Now I am encouraging us to play there also because they have a "ship mast" play area. Yup you can tie someone to a "mast" which even comes with stage rolled up sails and deck! Pirate tickling scene (ummm I like pirates okay).
As more details come out I'll see if we can't organize something for a later date 🙂
The official opening date is 4/1/06 but I have not hear more details on this yet.
