Hi all, new member. I've become interested in the subject of endorphins lately, and hey who isn't? :ermm:

I have a question: does tickling-laughter release endorphins the same as funny-laughter? I only ask because the laughter caused by being tickled is a reflex. Or maybe does it depend on how much the "victim" enjoys it? Thanks.

Welcome Daredevil, and an interesting question.I have no idea myself, but i would not be surprised if someone here can address this. It's amazing what you can find out about tickling and life in general here.Enjoy the TMF.

endorphins.

the answer to that is a definate yes.
if the tickling is intense enough then eventually endorphins kick in and numb the body.
i experimented with this with a lady i know well, and found that tickling her feet resulted in a shutdown far quicker than any other part of her body. this seemed to be due to the intensity and degree of ticklishness of her feet.

Welcome to the forum, daredevil! We're pleased to have you with us!

And to answer your question, I believe it does!

Mimi 😉

Hello daredevil,

Welcome to the TMF. Yes, tickling does cause an endorphin release. Not 100% the exact same as the chemical mix that comes from non induced laughter, but close.

Welcome

Welcome to the forum daredeviltklr , sorry I don't have an answer for you .

I would guess yes in much the same way as Distance Runners experience a runners high after so many miles through endorphin release.

Welcome by the way.

I think they're similar endorphins, laughing is, after all laughing. 🙂 However by experience and feedback, I've heard that tickling gives a much more elated 'high' after being tickled for quite a good while.

It's reflexive physically, but also psycologically. Sometimes, emotions can mix into it as well. You have to remember, even those who enjoy tickling intensely, still feel the need, desire to escape it. This battle of mind and body can be exhausting, but the release it provides can be amazing. ^.^ 😛oke3:

Those uncomfortable with tickling, yet somehow find that they enjoy it, go through even more interesting trials. In that they want it to continue, but they want it to stop. With the right tickler, it can be a huge release if done by the right hands. 🙂

I agree with everything you said, Ace.....

And for me, hearing her laugh, seeing her reactions to tickling provides a pretty good "high" for me.........

Most of the time I get a great "charge" from tickling, and the buzz lasts a pretty long time....and if she has a great laugh, I see "stars", and I begin to hallucinate....*grins*.... :bouncybou

And welcome to our forum, DDT...there are many wonderful, helpful members here......

I have to agree with most of the responses and say, yes it does. Maybe not the exact same way. However, laughter is laughter and after an extended period of time, endorphins will be released. Of course, as with anything else, the extent and method will differ for each "lee".

Welcome to the forum ddt.
