I don't like ftp's, so when you put an easy upload system, I'll consider doing business there.

I personally prefer using FTP when I upload to my site at http://www.clipmonsters.com/store/tickling myself as it handles large file transfers (1 GB+) more dependably than HTTP transfer. I think it's better to adapt to the use of FTP (since its whole reason for existing is file transfer) than to only use HTTP, IMHO.

word on the street is that the parent company of this site has owned sites like clipmonsters before and they bankrupted a few times without paying out the clip store owners.

I'd be careful of these guys if I were store owners.

Who is this "word on the street?" Name some names please; otherwise you're just badmouthing a company anonymously. If you could name some people who feel they've been burned by "the parent company," tell us who that parent company was, and let us judge for ourselves.

Also, you said you're "staying away," which implies you have a store yourself. Care to name which company hosts your stuff?

Just asking for a little bit of transparency here, that's all.

yeah, these are the same creeps that ran sinaplexxx.com

literally no support whatsoever. just a bunch of goons trying to make a quick buck. if i remember correctly, people were PISSED. some people even tried to shut their stores down and sinaplexx wouldn't help them out or delete their clips.

give it shot - call clipmonsters support line. it will either be busy, or you'll be sent into voicemail hell.

my advise: stay away and stick with the trusted web site who always pays out on time.

if i'm not mistaken, this is the same guy that runs bound hotties i think (or at least im pretty sure). maybe we should ask him why he didn't mention sinaplexxxxx in his last post?

I am going to get right to the point and make a long story short! Due
to some unforseen circumstances with the our hosting company and our
payment processing company ClipMonsters is being forced to close down!
This will take effect July 1, 2007!! All your information, video clips and
images will be deleted from our server! Store owners will be paid for
all clips sold up until July 1, 2007
You will be recieving a check by the end of July!!
We are very sorry for any inconvience this may have caused you. Our
closing down is due to circumstances beyond our control!

Hey knismo,, competition is one thing but flat out duplicating to a mirror image everything about your competitor is just STUPID!!!
You ever hear of things like patents, trademarks, copyrights or infringement laws??? Laws like these are why McDonalds have "Big Macs" and Burger King have "Whoppers" and the Mom and Pop burger joing have "Hamburgers"...
Just a little Biz 101 for you...
Now, sorry if I rain on anyone's parade,, but the reason why Clipmonsters is done is because they got bitch slapped by Neil...
knismo, you know him right??? He's the guy that hosts your material and bills for you.. and markets the site and maintains a I.T. staff that keeps the site free from Tech issues....
I have no idea how much revenue your store produces a month, but I would guess it's a decent amount... I say that because you make quality material, you update frequently and you market your store very well. Your models are attractive and ticklish too...
I guess I'm kinda suprised your loyality doesn't run a little deeper to the site that provided so many of us the opportunity...

It's very kind of you to offer "Biz 101" for free; I'm sure you spent many years writing up the syllabus. Don't head for academia any time soon, though.

You see, there's this thing called, "competition," and it's up to any good businessman to see if it is legit, and if they are offering as good a service at a better price. I simply wanted to get some answers to some questions -- you'll note my store hasn't gone anywhere. "Loyalty" is nice when you're talking about the Boy Scouts or something, but in business, if you can find a better service provider who can give you a better cost, you'd be a fool not to at least examine the opportunity. Apparently ClipMonsters wasn't all they say they were, and failed in the marketplace. C'est la guerre.

Business operates on the concept of free enterprise. I have personally had great service from Neil at Clips4Sale.com. however, this does not preclude me from exploring all other possibilities, nor does my exploring these other options amount to disloyalty to Neil.

It's up to Neil to determine if he should take action against an illegitimate competitor, adjust his offering to be more competitive, or change nothing at all.

I personally think Neil played this one like a champ.

But don't be confused. None of us are playing by high school rules here. It's not some game of "we're not talking to the new guy because we like Neil".

Neil's a big boy with a vision. Again, he continues to show why he defines his market.
