There is an inkling that this is being scheduled to announce the retirement of longtime football coach Bill Snyder.
Let's face it, Bill Snyder is synonymous with K-State football success. He resurrected the team when he was hired in 1989 and turned K-State into a powerhouse. He stepped aside in 2005 and the Wildcats hired Ron Prince. In 2008, with the program in shambles, Snyder was rehired and is the current head coach.
I would not blame Snyder for stepping aside, his legacy in Manhattan Kansas is secure. He is revered in Kansas as well as around the Midwest. Also, his age may be a factor as he is going to be 80 next October.
Mr. Snyder, have no regrets. If you do decide to retire, let it be known that you are a heck of a head coach and an even better man. College football will lose one of the greats if you decide to hang it up; this coming from a bleed black and gold MU Tiger fan.
