Newscaster tickled (Austrian TV ZIB 2)

Hi,

this is already some years old but I think it has never been posted or mentioned on this forum. And it deserves to be posted here as it is to my knowledge the only time a newscaster is (most likely) tickled on air. German comedian Otto Waalkes is guest on the Austrian news show Zeit im Bild (ZIB 2). It was planned to conduct a serious interview but right from the beginning Otto is giving funny answers and the anchor woman Ingrid Thurnher is hardly able to get a word in edgeways. At one point Otto crawls under the table. See what happens then:

wellll that guy sure is crazy 😛 and its true we don't know if it is or not! but its looking like that since she does look down... buuut he could be doing anything to put her off so people who watch this clip can judge for themselves! 😛 either way it was rather intresting LOL

When I read what this clip was about I thought that there's most probably no tickling involved, 'cause I saw bunch of videos claiming that newscaster gets tickled, while she/he usually just get distracted from something or someone, but her reaction certainly look like a ticklish one, she flinched and it was followed by a small giggle, almost like a gasp, more than once.

Even if he wasn't intentionally tickling her, perhaps just playing with her socks (most probably nylons, due to the businesswoman suit), shoes or something, she might have been tickled...

So I would put my bets on tickling here, though she reacted professionally and carried on with the news.

Interesting find! It would be nice if there is an account of
what happened from the anchor woman or someone else working
in the studio that day. To know for sure. However, that being said.
I could see a guy as crazy and goofy acting as that dude, doing some
tickling. LOL

In one of the comments on the video on youtube someone says in an Austrian magazine she said he tickled her.

And if you listen carefully, you can hear him taking her shoes off (first at 4:48, second at 4:50)! That explains her face at 4:50.

Defintely looks like a ticklish reaction, especially the way she was twitching around and presumably trying to hold back her laughter until the end.

I remember that. I have seen another version that shows what he is doing under the table and not her reactions. He is not really tickling her he is putting off her shoes.

I know this version that you mean. But it was a contrived clip they did for an anniversary show ("Let's reveal what he did under the table back then."). In the clip a guy (whose face you can't see) is trying to attach gym shoes (German Turnschuh) on her feet because her name is Thurnher and he called her Frau Turnschuh. I don't think anything exists from behind.

I think it might have been a ticklish reaction. The way her eyes got wide and she was swatting him away. then the laughing as they tossed to the next news story. It may have been a foot tickle.

Well, when I saw this I remembered that old scene under the desk. I didn't know the story behind it. You probably know more about this than I do! Thanks for the information.

I had a false memory about that scene (happens quite often, especialy when it comes to tickle scnenes) I wonder though whose feet that were in the second clip? You don't know that by chance?

Yes, that would have been an interesting question if he had changed her shoes. But he did not.
