I was hoping that Dallas could get Earl Thomas, and it looked likely after the Eagles traded up to get a DE, but the fuckin' Seahawks had to ruin that one. What the hell are they doing drafting players like Earl Thomas?!

I'm really excited with Dallas' pick. Dez Bryant has the potential to be one of the premier receivers in the NFL for years to come. The pick should really benefit the offense and special teams next season. Hopefully they'll grab a playmaking safety today and possibly an offensive lineman if they get back in the third round.

Like everyone else I'm really surprised Claussen is still in the mix. I'm hoping that the Bills will get either him or McCoy (there's no way either lasts until the 9th pick). I'm scratching my head over why they chose a running back (Spiller) as their first pick, that being totally unnecessary with more pressing needs on the line and at QB.

Yeah , I was surprised by the Bills picking Spiller , as well.

Our defense could use just about EVERYTHING other than secondary.

Like many people, I was shocked that Denver took Tim Tebow in the first round ahead of Jimmy Clausen and Colt McCoy. I think Tebow will be a bust. Also, I was disappointed that when the Eagles traded up in the first round that they didn't select Earl Thomas, the safety from Texas . I thought they needed a safety more so than a defensive end and could have gotten a pass rusher later in the draft.

I was glad to see my 49ers draft two road graders in Davis and Iupati. Exactly what we needed!

Excited about today!

Don't know why the Bills took Spiller or the Jags Alualu

Seahawks picks were solid, 49ers what they needed

Steelers got their O-Lineman

Broncos were brilliant by trading down... until they traded back up to take Tebow

Dez Bryant may turn out to be the steal of the draft

That's what I was afraid of. I was one-hundred percent sure that he was their guy when they jumped up that far and I was really relieved that they didn't take him. It's better than he goes to a neutral team than a division foe.

The NFL Network called damn near every pick before it happened last night, even Alualu. It was impressive and annoying.

The 49ers better take one of these QB's that are still available. Colt McCoy should be there pick in a few minutes.

Can't believe the Bills passed on McCoy. Trent Edwards is a walking concussion and Ryan Fitzpatrick is a backup at best.

Also, rumors flying that Dez Bryant slipped due to a 'heart murmur'... stay tuned.

Happiest team right now.....Carolina Panthers. No 1st round pick, but got a 1st round caliber franchise start now QB in Clausen. Happiest person right now, Jimmy Clausen. He has a dominant running game, a go to receiver, and a stout offensive line. He is set up to succeed when going to other teams he would not be set up as well.

Worst draft so far...Jacksonville by far. That was a HUGE reach in the first round. Nothing exciting coming in, and another ho-hum season ahead.

Honorable Mentions for great drafts so far: Jets, Lions, Packers.

No kidding... Matt Moore is good, but I never would've dreamed we'd have a shot at Clausen.

Thanks Denver! LOL

Nope. The Front Office is sold on Alex and Carr.

If we take a QB this year, it'll be in the 6th round.

I have two names that will be associated with Clausen in a few years. Rick Mirer and Ryan Leaf. Yes I truly believe Clausen will be a titanic bust ; seems like alot of NFL desperate for QB felt the same way!

Many people in the NFL are saying Clausen already sees himself as a rockstar; not good for a player who has never played a down in the NFL

Irregular heartbeat that the team was aware of before the pick.

Sorry, I said the wrong thing. You are quite correct, it is a 'irregular heartbeat' and not a 'heart murmur'.

Still...

Also, the Ravens continue to draft well. Ozzie Newsome drafted nothing but defensive studs that will help that D stay top-10.

As for Clausen and the Panthers, Jimmy comes cheap, has more potential than Moore and is WAY better than Jake Delhomme.

Check out this Navorro Bowman kid my 49ers landed at the bottom of the 3rd:

This kid is going to be great, and he's got the right coach to see that it happens.

You want inspiring, you want a guy you would LOVE to have on your team, here you go:

I respect the heck out of Mike Holmgren.

I think Colt McCoy is going to be a star.

I can't stand Eric Mangini.

Two out of three ain't bad. Especially when the "Mangenius" gets canned.

True, I've heard rumors about his attitude, but you gotta remember... We suffered through several years of Delhomme. Even if Clausen turns out to be mediocre, it will be somewhat of an improvement.

The main reason why I think Clausen will do well is because he has such a good supporting cast. We may not have Peppers anymore, but our defense is still decent. As for offense, we finally are at a point where we don't have to completely depend on Steve Smith.

You also have the Saints and Falcons to catch-up to.

I don't think the Falcons will be too much of a problem. Granted, if Matt Ryan stays healthy, he's going to be a tough one to beat.

The Saints, on the other hand... well, let's just say that I think they might repeat. I could easily see the next Super Bowl being a rematch. Granted, if it does come to that... Manning might pull through this time.

Honestly, I'm not sold on any of them just yet, but at least Mangini pulled five games out of what was turning into an (or should I say "another") abysmal season. And you got to admit it was fun watching Big Ben's face as the Steelers lost. It probably won't happen for another ten years, but you have to enjoy your victories when you can get them when you're a Browns fan right?:excited:

I'm also glad Anderson and Quinn are gone and I hope we don't have anymore "quarterback controversies." I think Cleveland is the only team that does that crap; how do you expect anyone to perform optimally when you don't know one week to the next who's going to start? Quinn should be fine in Denver, it's better than Anderson who I still don't think has a job. Now that they've paid Josh Cribbs we won't lose one of the most all around players I've seen in the game in awhile. I'm tired of being a farm team where we let good talent leave and they get rings within the next year or two.

Still got my eye on Mangini; either he's the next Belechick or he's going to be run out of town on a rail--just no inbetween with that guy.

The Panthers really have no reason to finish worse than 9-7 in any given season.

Hopefully after John Fox is fired/not re-signed at the end of this year they can get a REAL coach who motivates the team to play up to the talent they have on paper.

One can only hope.... Although Hurney should probably go as well.

The draft. Got to love the NFL draft. For the first few picks, it went exactly as planned. Although, I'm still concerned about Braford. TWO shoulder injuries in the same seasn? Plus, have you seen the Rams O-line? If Bradford makes it through the year, I will be surprised...

Detroit made out BIG!! Picking up Suh, just made their D-line really good, especially with Vanden Bosch. Then, I think they may have picked up the steal of the draft with running backs. Jahvid Best is the real deal. The Lions now have Calvin Johnson, Best, and Stafford on offense. In a couple of years, this offense is going to be scary.

Tampa Bay. Wow. Picking up McCoy, AND Brian Price may have solidified their D-line. They picked up 2 of the top 5 D-tackles in the draft? Crazy....

I hate to admit, but the Raiders actually made a solid 1st round pick in Rolando McClain. Damn Raiders... How come they couldn't select a punter in the first round? lol

San Francisco did well. Grabbing those two O-linemen improves their O-line, and grabbing Taylor Mays is a steal. This guy will make an impact on the NFL level. All we need to be a dominant force is......................... QUARTERBACK. Dammit, Smith or Carr are not the answers...

It really pains me to say this. But the Dallas Cowboys made one hell of a move getting Dez Bryant. That kid is going to be amazing. I guess Roy Williams is done now......

The Broncos are idiots. Is there a master plan by Josh McDaniels to destroy the once proud franchise? Tebow in the first round? Yeah, ok... I love Brady Quinn (Notre Dame!!!), and I am thrilled for him to leave Cleveland (mistake by the lake), but going to Josh McDaniels is another terrible thought. McDaniels is overrated and people should realize that Bill Belichick's "tree" of coaches are failures. They only won because they cheated! Notice ever since spy gate, the Patriots haven't been the same. It is a lot harder to win now that you don't know what the opponents are doing....

I'm not sure about Mays. He could be the next-great 49ers safety or he could be the next Roy Williams. There's a reason that the Seahawks passed on Mays and went with Taylor even though their head coach is familiar with Mays. Mays' lack of playmaking/cover skills are a concern. He's 6'3, 230lbs and ran a 4.3 40. If he can become more instinctive he'll be great.

I am glad Brady Quinn and Derek Anderson are gone; they were both ineffective and inconsistent. As far as I'm concerned, don't let the door hit them on the way out!!

And say what you want to say about Cleveland, but at least we know where the next dollar's coming from. How's it going in your state these days prime??
