NFL Draft Thoughts

Taylor Mays suffered in Pete Carroll's scheme. I am starting to wonder about USC now. Ever since Norm Chow left, and a whole host of other assistants, USC hasn't been that great. Pete Carroll passed on Toby Gerhart during recruiting days. Pete wanted him to be a linebacker. Pete got that wrong. I'm telling you, Taylor Mays will be just fine.

Aw c'mon Kis, you know I have to poke fun at Cleveland. After all, it's Cleveland....lol Quinn should have never went there. Derek Anderson should have never been there. Romeo Crennel was a failure, and so is Mangini. Put Quinn in the right system and he is ok.

Don't worry about California, we'll bounce back. We are far too important of a State to go under.... Plus, how many sports champions came out of Ohio compared to California.... yeah, that says it all....

One should be coming out of Cleveland in June, but that discussion is for another thread.

Romeo's hands were tied by the GM which is why he eventually got fired. We have a team owner who inherited the team after his daddy died and his passion is hockey, not football. He's learning to hire the people who can get the job done and he'll keep fawning over his hockey team. So much for what you think you know. As far as Mangini is concerned, it's a "wait and see" situation and he knows his job is on the line now. He'll either perform well or he's gone, plain and simple. The team needs to realize that they don't get to pick their boss and he's not going to kowtowel to their crap. He'll either be the greatest coach since Paul Brown or he's going to burst into flames. How about you letting us figure that one out for ourselves?

Quinn was a little prick who was ineffective (and I wish we never got in the first place). If you think he's so great, he can come rock the bench in your state. Anderson was way too inconsistent; as soon as they started paying him money, he couldn't play football anymore. Now he is unemployed as non-performers should be. If it wasn't for the Browns, his sorry arse wouldn't have had a job as long as he did. He had some great moments, and some really bad ones; consistency is key to good performance in any job including being a NFL quarterback.

And no, you didn't "have" to poke fun at Cleveland; it was tacky at best and at worst.....well I'll just leave it there. I think your state has enough problems of its own than to swipe at my city, thank you very much.

I hated it for obvious reasons. I swear to god my team does not know what the hell they are doing anymore. L.A. here we come.

Romeo Crennel is not a successful head coach. Anyone coming from the Belicheat tree, I will have my doubts. True, GMs can get in the way, but nonetheless, the coaches are responsible for their system to succeed. Brady Quinn is not the type of QB to be in whatever system Crennel had.

I truly believe college QBs need to get placed in systems where their talents are most useful. Plugging in any ol' QB into your system will not always translate to success. I remember Cade McKnown from UCLA. During his college years, Cade won games. He had the knack to make big plays and he was a leader. But, we was in a pass oriented system that accentuated his strengths. Where did he go in the NFL at first? Chicago. They are a black and blue, pound you into submission type franchise. Cade was more of a "finesse" passer. Wrong guy, wrong system. Same with Quinn. Quinn needs to be in a pass friendly system. Cleveland Browns are still trying to figure out what system they have....

Man Kis, you sure get "prickly" when people (me) ridicule Cleveland. That's what sports fans do. We make fun of each other's cities. You don't think I have heard my share of Los Angeles insults? People say we are a bunch of "fake" people, who just hang out at the beach all day. People have a certain image of LA. To some degree, they are correct. But the same goes for Cleveland. California is a tourist spot where people plan vacations. People do not plan their vacations to visit Cleveland.:rowfull:
I will never forget what Derek Anderson said on his way out of Cleveland....

Besides, you can feel proud of the fact that Cleveland had people feel sorry for them. When the Browns went to Baltimore and became the Ravens, people felt so sorry for the City of Cleveland and the NFL got them a franchise 3 years later. That's some bullshit. LA lost TWO teams, and we still do not have a team. So, at least Cleveland gets sympathy from people....
