The question is, if the lockout ends up going into the season itself and is resolved will you start watching immediately or will be pissed because most players may be woefully out of shape and quit watching?

The lockout effected the NHL and MLB when they did it and it took years for alot of fans to embrace it again. I wonder if the NFL will have the same fallout.

Then theres the NBA, who is also about to see their collective bargaining agreement come to an end. That could get pretty ugly too.

I will start watching immediately

Are we talking a week or are we talking about that emergency 8-game season they have?

If it's a minimal or short delay, I'll watch straight away. There would be plenty of time for good football to be played.

If it's an 8-game season or something like it, I'll keep an eye on the standings, but probably not with the same interest.

A lot of people talk about how each of the major sports had a work stoppage that turned them off or turned them away from that particular sport. I'm finding that I'm just starting to care less about sports in general as I get older and watch this crap happen over and over. Football's still my favorite sport and the only one I really follow anymore. But I wonder if I'll feel that way in 2015.

I doubt that the players will be out of shape, and that wouldn't be a good enough reason for me to quit watching.

I would definitely start watching again right away.

Yeah, I'll start watching right away too but there are bound to be an inordinate amount of injuries because they have had no mini camp, no training camp or trainers supervising them. Guys all think they can police themselves but I've heard more than one player say they are enjoying the summer vacation, and treating it as such.

As for the emergency 8 game season, that seems like a last resort. If it goes on that long, everyone will be worried. Greed is driving this whole thing of course. I just can't believe they would kill the golden goose to spite the other side.

I hope they can at least agree on a rookie scale. There is no way a guy who has never played a down in professional football should be making 5 times what a respected veteran player does. :sowrong:

Thats how i have begun to feel the last 3 years, i just don't enjoy it as much as i use to

I hope both sides are smart enough not to piss the fans off

Thats one of my points, I wonder how many people are going to be so pissed that they could care less about football and not come back. They need to get a deal done...soon.

The NFL isnt as vulnerable as you seem to think it is, maybe some casual fans wont come back but the huge base of real NFL fans can bitch all they want now, when it starts they will be watching

I think I will start watching right away. My favorite sport is baseball, but I do love watching Football. I think that these players will be in shape when/if the season begins this year. It will be interesting to see what happens to the sport if/when the season is not played this year.

To me, it seems like both sides are not willing to negotiate at the moment and the season will not happen this year. One of the sides will have to give up what they have been working on this entire time. I do not see one of the sides giving in
