The Eagles keep their postseason hopes alive with a 25-22 win over the Giants.

The Seahawks also stay in the hunt for a wild card spot with a 30-27 win over the Panthers who are now 6-5.

Patriots over the Jets 27-13.

Ravens 34 Raiders 17.

After firing Hue Jackson the Browns have won two in a row with a 35-20 win over the Bengals. There are reports that after the season Marv Lewis will move up to the executive suite with Jackson taking over as head coach. Have Bengals fans not suffered enough?

Buffalo picks up a 24-21 win over the Jaguars, who have now lost 7 in a row. The question is whether Doug Marrone will make it to the end of the season. He will almost certainly be fired soon. Will Bortles join him in the unemployment line?

The Jets were in the game for a while against the Pats, but then the Jets became the Jets.

During the Cleveland-Cincinnati pregame, Hue Jackson went up to Baker Mayfield and was snubbed for a handshake. Tells you a little bit about their relationship in Cleveland.

After last season, the Jags were considered the darlings to make it to the Super Bowl. Now, like you said Bugman, Doug Marrone and Blake Bortles are fighting to keep their jobs. What was bizzare was the Leonard Fournette-Shaq Lawson rumble that led to ejections of both. They continued their scuffle up the tunnel and into the locker rooms. My question is what good are you doing by throwing punches at a guy who still has his helmet on?

With blizzard like conditions in the midwest, a good day to stay in and watch some football. Currently watching the Steelers-Broncos game and Denver is actually hanging pretty good with the Steelers, Broncos just recovered a Steelers fumble. Would do Kansas City some good for Denver to pull this one out.

Yep. The Jets don't have a QB right now.

Didn't hear that, but yes it speaks volumes. Not that anyone in Cleveland shed tears when Hue got his walking papers.

The Jags are in complete meltdown mode. Didn't know about the fight but yeah, swinging at a guy with his helmet on is a good way to hurt your hand.

You all be careful up there. That's one thing about the Midwest I don't miss at all. The Denver defense needs another big stop now.

Victory formation for Denver after an interception by Denver in the endzone with 1:03 left! Way to go Broncos!!

Thank you Denver Broncos!! 😀 Broncos 24 Steelers 17. This game may have major playoff implications by week 17.

The Chargers flatted Arizona 45-10.

After trailing late into the 4th quarter Luck brings the Colts back for a 27-24 win over Miami. That Indy offense is firing on all cylinders right now and they are looking good for a wild card.

Coming up, the 5-4-1 Vikings take on the 4-5-1 Packers. The loser of this game may be out in the cold (no pun intended) come playoff time.

My mistake. Mayfield shook Hue Jackson's hand, it was a hug that he snubbed. But I still feel there is no love lost between the two.

That hits a little close to home today!! Thanks Bugman!:flatstare: Although, by the end of the week, if the forecast holds, it's suppose to be in the 50s.

There's not much doubt about that. I'm pretty sure the entire team was ready to see Hue go. Oh by the way, the Browns had not won a road game since the 2015 season.

Sorry about that. Hope it does warm up soon.

With the Panthers losing today, at least for now my Redskins hold the 6th seed in the NFC. The NFC East is gonna come down to week 17, and I won't be shocked if the winner has just 9 wins.
I think the Giants loss today officially means that they're done. Coming into today being 3-7, mathematically they were very much in the division race. But despite the division being weak, I don't see them coming back from 3-8.

My big question is, what the fuck has happened to the Jaguars? They haven't won a game since September 30th. That's two months without a win. And this is a team that came within minutes of a trip to the superbowl back in January. I know the offense is trash, but the defense hasn't been great either. Certainly not what we saw in 2017.

I'm currently watching the Vikings take on the Packers, and while it's not over, it not looking too good for the Packers. If they lose tonight, I think their season is all but done.

Tickled to death(pun intended) about Lamar Jackson and my Ravens. Jackson might not be as good a QB as Flacco yet(give him time) but he's made the Ravens a lot more entertaining, and has also helped revitalize their running game which was non-existent the first half of the season.
I didn't know about the blizzards in the midwest. One good thing about the Mid Atlantic is the mild weather. It was in the low 60's and sunny today.

Advice from a Redskins fan, BE SMART WITH HIM!!!! We weren't smart after the 2012 regular season, and everyone knows what happened from there.

As much as I dislike our neighboring football team to the north, I love seeing Lamar Jackson do his thing and want him to succeed. Except once every 4 years when the Ravens & Redskins play eachother.

Everyone wants to talk about his throwing, which needs to be worked on sure, but it's not like he's making brain-dead decisions. Not everyone is gonna come in like Pat Mahomes. I'm confident that he's only gonna get better though. I don't see how/why you go back to Flacco now. Especially since your next opponent is a beat up, and all but dead, Falcons team with a decimated defense. You ride with the guy who's given the offense life.

I think the feeling was, Hue knew he was on a short leash and he and the Bengals were talking while he was still coach. Lots of turmoil and drama, Hue and Haley, I'm glad it's over, move on.

I agree 100%. Nothing against Flacco, but since they won the SB almost 6 years ago, they've been a .500 team w/him under center. Now I'll give Joe a little bit of a pass, because the front office hasn't surrounded him w/any real playmakers, in a long time. But still Joe's been in the league for 10 years, he's not going to get any better at this point. The team, especially the running game looks a lot more energized w/Lamar.

Unfortunately Harbaugh will probably put Flacco back in as soon as he's healthy, because they've working together for 10 years, and since Harbaugh's on the hotseat he feels Flacco gives him the best chance to win now.

I'm kind of ambivalent about the Redskins. I hate the Colts, Steelers and Pat's much more. But I'm sorry to see what happened to Alex Smith recently.

Unless you're in like Tom Brady or Aaron Rogers territory, your job shouldn't be secure if you get hurt. If Lamar is winning and giving the offense life, that who you should roll with. Plus, he was gonna take over anyway. It's not like this is some random free agent QB. Lamar was drafted to be the future. And if him getting the keys comes sooner than expected, so be it.

And yeah, Smith going down sucked. He's frustrated me at times this season, because the games at least for our offense has been ugly. But he wasn't committing dumb mistakes, and we were winning. His worst game of the season was actually the game that he got hurt in. And now that injury, they're saying was worse than originally thought. First it was maybe a 6-8 month recovery, but now they're thinking that it could be 8-10 months. I hope he can come back. Because I've been a fan of his for a while. His career started terribly, basically 6 years of nothing in San Fran. And it got pretty bad. I'll never forget this game in 2010. Skip to 1:42:00 and just watch the next 3-4 minutes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YR5VW3tLGlg

He finally caught fire in 2011, but ended up losing his job when he got hurt in 2012. But he went to KC and became a pro-bowler, and arguably the best QB they've had in years. And he took Pat Mahomes under his wing, knowing that he was there for no other reason than to take his job.

That division is a three way dogfight right now. Much as I hate to say this, the way Dallas is playing right now they will probably win it.

I guess the injury bug has hit them pretty hard this year. Maybe 2017 was one of those catching lighting in a bottle seasons. They fired OC Nate Hackett today and Bortles has been benched in favor of Cody Kessler. Don't think it will make much difference this late in the season.

You can stick a fork in the Packers, their season is over. The tension between Rogers and McCarthy is no secret, and one of them will be gone after week 17. I think we all know which one.

I don't get Mayfield here.

Jackson didn't pull a Brett Favre, the Browns fired him. He's got no obligation to be loyal to the organization that fired him. What's he supposed to do? Turn down a job offer just because it's a divisional rival that offered it to him?

My guess? Frustration with the way Jackson ran things. Should he have kept that in the locker room? Probably.

I think the feeling was, Hue knew he was on a short leash and he and the Bengals were talking while he was still coach.

Are you sure about that? If Jackson was talking to the Bengals about a job before he got fired it sounds like tampering, and the NFL takes a very dim view of that. Or am I misunderstanding something?

If anything plays in the Redskins favor right now, it's the games that the Cowboys and Eagles still have to play. Dallas still has to play the Saints and Colts. Philly still has to play the Rams and Texans. Those are tough games. And I just don't see the Cowboys beating the Saints, and I don't see the Eagles beating the Rams. Also, the Cowboys and Eagles still have to play eachother one more time. The Redskins schedule while not a cakewalk, is probably the least difficult between the three teams.

The Jaguars to me show that defense may carry you for a little while, but you can't bank on it to lead your team long term. Some teams catch lightning for a season, but it won't last. Look at the Broncos, they're just 3 years removed from a title thanks to a great defense. But since then, what have they done? No playoffs for two straight seasons, possibly three depending on what happens for the rest of this season. This is why I wish my Redskins would stop relying on the defense to win. Any Skins fan will tell you that the defense has drastically improved, and that it's been a big reason why we've won games this season, but it's not elite.

And yeah, Green Bay is done, and I predict big changes to come. I'd be shocked if we see Rodgers and McCarthy together next season. And everyone already knows they're not gonna get rid of Rodgers.

If Washington can win the division I'm all for it. Anybody but the Plowboys. Maybe Colt McCoy can pull off a Nick Foles. He is a former Longhorn after all. 😉

They say defense wins championships and maybe that's true but yeah you need an offense to get there. The Chiefs and their fans learned that the hard way in the 90's when they had a dominant defense and never got over the hump. There were a lot of reasons for that but I digress.

I still believe in McCoy. He had basically no real practice leading up to the Dallas game since it was such a short week. And they were in the game up until the end of the 3rd Qtr when the defense fell apart and Amari Cooper went off. What's most concerning about this game vs Philly has nothing to do with the actual roster. It's the fact that the game's on Monday Night. For Redskins fans, Monday Night Football is our biggest fear. Since 1998, we're just 5-22 on Monday Night. For some reason, they just don't show up. And there have been some downright awful moments.

Just to name a few: Their first game after 9/11 vs Green Bay they got shutout, The Steve Spurrier lips game in 2002 vs Philly, the 2006 opener vs Minnesota in which we lost to our former QB Brad Johnson who was damn near ancient at the time, the Terrible Towel takeover in 2008 vs Pittsburgh, the Bingo game in 2009 vs Philly, the fake field goal game in 2009 vs NYG, the MNF Massacre in 2010 vs Philly, "All in for week 1" in 2013 vs Philly, and earlier this season getting just railroaded by New Orleans after having two weeks to prepare.

I was very young during the 90s, but I've seen a lot of NFL Films on the Chiefs and I know all about their 90s playoff woes.

I was surprised Jackson wasn't gone after the Browns went 0-16 last season. 3-36-1 for two plus seasons isn't going to garner you many supporters.

5-22 is brutal. Good luck next Monday.

I think just about everyone was surprised Hue lasted as long as he did. And Deion Sanders is probably right about Mayfield.

That's another reason why I don't get Bakers criticisms. Jackson was in no position to be picky.
