The Chiefs win in dramatic fashion in OT over the Ravens 27-24. They have clinched a playoff berth and are in position to wrap up the AFC West. Coupled with major upsets today this win looms large.

The Colts snapped the Texans 9 game win streak with a 24-21 win in Houston.

Special thanks to the Dolphins for their 34-33 win over New England. The Patriots have lost five of their last six in Miami. 😀

The Giants buried Washington 40-16.

Jets over the Bills 27-23.

After trailing into the fourth quarter the Saints come back over Tampa Bay 28-14.

The Panthers sinking season took another hit as they lose in Cleveland 26-20.

Packers 34 Falcons 20.

The Chiefs are causing me gray hairs and elevated blood pressure. Man, what a game. At least they clinched a playoff spot and a 2-game lead in the AFC and have the inside track to home field at Arrowhead thanks to . . .

what they are calling the Miami Miracle. The Dolphins beat New England on the last play of the game. Thanks Miami!!

I guess Green Bay doesn't need Mike McCarthy anyway as the Pack takes care of the Falcons.

Carolina stumbles again as the lose to the Browns. Maybe the Browns have finally turned the corner?

Indy scores a minor upset as they beat Houston.

The Saints just keep rolling along.

What's up with the G-Men, they can't get their (stuff) together until it's too late, now they blow out Sanchez's Skins? But then, this is a Washington team that is a shell of itself from the beginning of the year.

You and me both. Those nail biters are tough on us old guys.

I'm not sure the Falcons have fully recovered from that Super Bowl loss.

Fun fact- Interim head coach Gregg Williams has equaled the three wins Hugh Jackson managed in three years.

Indy scores a minor upset as they beat Houston.

The Colts have been playing well but I'd say this is more than a minor upset. They allowed only two sacks of Luck while taking Watson down five times.

Something lit a fire under the Giants and they put up 40 without Beckham.

The Broncos postseason hopes may have suffered a fatal blow as they fall to the 49ers 20-14.

The Raiders played Pittsburgh close but lose 21-17. Correction! Raiders 24-21 over the Steelers! 😀

Chargers over the Bengals 26-21. There will be a playoff atmosphere at Arrowhead Thursday night when they come calling.

Lions 17-3 over the Cardinals.

Cowboys and Eagles go to overtime tied 23-23. Dallas wins 29-23.

Didn't see many of the late games, but did see the Chargers beat the Bengals. Chargers are playing some of the best ball of late; going to be a force coming to Arrowhead on Thursday, should be a barn-burner.

Raiders come away with a win when Steelers' kicker Chris Boswell slipped trying to tie the game.

I think the Sunday night game is going to come down to the Bears ability to run against the Rams D. If they can, I think the Bears D can handle the Rams offense and come away with a win.

The Chiefs' Achilles heel is their horrible defense, which have proved to be a liability against the Rams and Patriots. Kansas City is a .500 club without the best QB since Len Dawson, Patrick Mahomes II. I don't count Montana, since he was almost retired, and did get KC to the AFC title game.

What the enormous elephant in the room at Arrowhead is the fact that they have only won 4 playoff games since their Super Bowl Championship in 1970. Mahomes may be the dragonslayer that long suffering Chiefs fans have been dreaming of since that heartbreak on Christmas Day 1971. They need to get some killers on defense if they want the Super Bowl title.

Eric Berry is supposed to be back in the lineup for Thursday's game. Hopefully, he can shore up the secondary. However, the defensive front four (Dee Ford, Justin Huston, Chris Jones and Aaron Bailey) have been playing like a line possessed lately. Here's hoping they can pressure Rivers into a couple INTs Thursday.

I was right, the Bears D harassed Jared Goff all night long and Todd Gurley wasn't even a factor in the game. Bears victory.

Regarding the Miami Miracle, when I saw that replay, the replay that was running through my head was of "the play- Cal vs Stanford...he's to the 30, the 20, oh the band is out on the field!!"

Of course there was no band, just Gronk, and Gronk is no Charles Woodson or Steve Atwater. He doesn't know how to take defensive angles to shut down plays. He was in for the specific purpose of defending a Hail Mary, too bad. Thanks Miami, because of you, my Chiefs can hold a 2 game lead with three to play in the AFC for home field in the playoffs if they can get past the Chargers on Thursday night.

Think there was a team called the Falcons.... they kinda made a come-back, but. And my home-town team. Well, nothin' this year. At lleast our soccer team did some good (but, that should be another thread). Good luck to your favorite team!

It's defcon 2 here in DC after that performance. Fans are calling for heads. Only reason it's not defcon 1 yet is because the season is near it's end, and fans expect changes to be made. If they aren't made, then it'll be defcon 1. GM Bruce Allen is the unanimous target. Fans want him gone immediately. HC Jay Grudens favorably certainly has dropped, but the fans seem to be split on him. Because the past two seasons have just been shitty luck. Last season the defense was decimated by injuries, and this year it's the offense that's been decimated by injuries. Still, there are issues when the coaching just hasn't been what it needs to be. And the defense, which miraculously has remained healthy this season, has totally fallen apart over the last three games. So while I wouldn't be upset if Gruden returned, I'm not sure if him being bit hard by the injury bug will save him. To me, if they fire him, they had better have someone at the ready. Like Oakland had Jon Gruden as a done deal behind the scenes before last season even ended.

And with Alex Smith unlikely to be ready for 2019 according to the reports, drafting a QB has to be a priority now. We can't go into 2019 with no young gun on the roster. If anything plays into our favor, many QB needy teams addressed the need back in April during the draft. So going into the 2019 draft, the number of QB needy teams aren't gonna be as high as they were going into the 2018 draft.

As far as the rest of the league goes,

The Panthers have totally collapsed. One more loss and I think they'll be officially dead.
The Packers mathematically kept their hopes alive, but the cards are too stacked against them. Even if they win out, they still need tons of help.
The Patriots outsmarted themselves, but they're still gonna end up winning their division for the umpteenth time.
The Cowboys are gonna take the NFC East, and as much as it pains me to say it, the Amari Cooper trade looks brilliant.
The Bears look like geniuses for going after Khalil Mack the way they did. By himself, he's transformed a defensive unit into an elite group.
The Ravens have their QB. Eventhough they lost to the Chiefs, Lamar Jackson if healthy has to be the starter for the rest of the year.
The Road to the Superbowl for the NFC at the moment looks to be going through New Orleans.

Yep. Ford and Jones are having Pro Bowl caliber seasons. Now we have to hope Tyreek will be able to go. If he can play without making things worse they need him out there. Then he'd have 10 days to rest and rehab.

Just finished watching the Vikings-Seahawks game. The Vikings forgot to pack their offense for the trip. Cousins finished 20 of 33 for 208 yards and a touchdown but 78 of those yards and the TD came in garbage time. Wilson was 10 of 20 for 72 yards but accounted for 61 of the Seahawks 216 rushing yards. That Seattle defense is playing at a high level and the Chiefs will have their hands full when they visit CenturyLink a week from Sunday.

An interesting stat I heard at the end of the game. 46 onside kicks have been attempted this year. The kicking team has recovered 4 of them.
